I still remember beating this game back in the '90s with two of my best friends. When three adventurers are surrounded by wall-to-wall monsters, have managed to get lost in the lower levels of the final castle, and resources are dangerously low, this song made the perfect epic last-stand music. We did manage to escape as we did everything we could to protect each other. Needless to say, we restocked in the Fire Tower and ventured in once again, eventually beating the game. One of the best songs
Sakimoto's FM music has this kind of 'open' feel which most FM music lack. I sometimes mistake parts of his music to have been done with samples or real instruments.
It's weird, not even nostalgia~ *laughs* I've never even played this game before. It's just an epic song with a tinge of sadness and hopefulness. I'm weird but at the time it made me tear up. :3 (I'm a girl btw~ my friends played more Genesis than I did~ I just loved Gauntlet for NES and stumbled here. Glad I did.
I love Transparent Obstacles (the theme from the Wind Tower), but I have to give the gold to Adventures of Iron. It fits the vibe of the final tower perfectly; you've plunged through four flavors of hell, you've survived a mountain's worth of trials and you've finally come to the dusk of your quest, the forboding sanctum where your archenemy is waiting for you.... I couldn't rip audio back in the 90's. Now that I can, this song is totally going into my next D&D campaign, mark my words.
i love this too all that emotion poured into a melody. i would love to hear a master remix that does not have that scratchy sound to it. the other songs don't have that hiss in the background. it is just how the genesis chip did this song.
Because you made it threw the labyrinth and defeated the dragon, your quest is over, rise young warrior, and take your thrown, the peasants rejoice, Excelsior!!!
Naw you ain't weird. You're just musically inclined. I hear all of what you described in the song. If you wanna know how I feel, I get hyped up because this comes when you're really far in the game and a whole bunch of monsters come at you.
@NWNisFUN Depending on what emulator you're using and available time, I'd be up for joining a fellow adventurer online. Quest Mode is absolutely amazing if you have allies. Alone it can get a little tedious at times, especially if you're stuck trying to figure out a floor and haven't been keeping up with using your experience as well as purchasing better equipment. In any case, good luck and dungeon on!

"Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!"
This song sounds as if this should've been on the Terminator or T2 movie soundtracks!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!
Right!
I hope that whenever I die, this song is playing in the background somewhere...

Cant stop listening to it. If i didnt knew it was from a Genesis Game, i would thought it was straight from a movie. Superb!

It reminds us to keep fighting even if the odds are stacked against us
omg it does have a teminator feel doesnt it?
You can't beat the classics. This music is epic! ^_^
Musique sous-estimée, et pourtant, c'est un chef d'oeuvre.
One of the sickest soundtracks ever! Period.
Let the nostalgia flow through you mah boi
@RasputinStream This soundtrack is unique to the Genesis version of the game.

i love that song
merci

this song always reminded me of the terminator too..
One of the sickest soundtracks ever made! Period. NOW, which all platforms was this game released? I have my emulators all "wet" and ready to go.....
I felt the same way when I first heard this. This could've worked as a perfect alternate to the original Terminator movie.
I'm on there too.
DON'T SHOOT THE POTION......!!!!!
Damn i remember playing this game for hours and keep on playing just because of the soundtrack.
Miss my old cassettes...

Wow, I'm weird, this song made me cry for some reason.
@iamspider I cant agree more ;)
i sense abit of the terminator score... regardless this music is pretty epic
You post on Project2612 forum?
Impressive ! I'd like to do a remix :-)
Gibt es den Soundtrack irgendwo zu kaufen oder kann man den downloaden? Die Musik ist der hammer !!!
not sure wat tower this one from
I found the actual game very mediocre but I couldn't stop playing until I finished it because of the soundtrack. One of the Genesis' best.
@flatcapman hahaha
