Masaya, if you’re reading this know you absolutely deserved to be in the finals and top medalist and we’re all shocked by the decision. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to have a great career and I’ll certainly be buying tickets to your next concert!
A most insightful musician with a phenomenal technique. He makes everything interesting. I look forward to his concerts when he comes to the US. Bravissimo!
I am shocked that Masaya Kamei did not reach the finals. Yes, the Waldstein is a touch soft-grained, but the rest of the recital ranges from excellent to jaw-dropping. The final section of Scarbo is off the charts.
An honest interpretation, so natural, so musical and so touching! incredible perfect techniques gracefully served to all needs of the music he feels and he wants to express.
What an absolutely riveting performance!! Bravo to this kid! I couldn't take my eyes off him. The Liszt and Ravel transported me to another place and time. Phenomenal!
I’m Japanese and can tell his modest and pure personality from all scenes. He is only 20 just started international career, i think god left him brighter opportunities in the future thanks to juries this time
He just tied for Gold in the Long-Thibaud Competition. Completely agree about his artistry. His interpretations are modern, unique, completely authentic to themselves, yet show complete respect for the compositions. He revels in the music. His articulation is crystalline. And he seems to have a completely uncomplicated relationship with the piano. So many other performers come across as though they are struggling against or trying to control the instrument.
Ha, nice programming - the piece Ravel wrote to be the hardest in the repertoire … and then the piece previously considered the hardest in the repertoire, inspiring Ravel to push the limits even further with Gaspard
Definitely, Masaya Kamei is worth listening to! I don't like to question the jurors' decisions because they were just their personal opinions, which don't affect how I feel about the semifinalists who were not advanced to the final. However, I sincerely hope their decisions, were NOT influenced by something else... but the competitors' musical merits ONLY.
Outstanding. An extremely complex programme performed with great mastery by such a young boy. It's a shame he didn't reach the finals, I'm asking what is actually missing in his Waldstein... Maybe it's not American enough
I think it's exactly the complexity of the program that might have got him cut. In some ways, it's too technical and despite it being highly musical, are all in some ways too virtuosic
Kamei has TWICE as much likes in his last video than all the likes in the finalist announcement video. This shows, we, the fans are angry that he was eliminated! Not right!

Just wondering why you think so. Is it a technical component of his? Or something else? Genuinely curious, pretty new to the piano scene and was introduced to it through Yunchan
@@dionariestanto9286 Many, many people claim that his Rach 3 and Transcendental Etudes are the greatest of all time. I've watched both performances in their entirety, and while they aren't easy pieces (and his interpretations aren't boring), I didn't feel like they were anything unique or innovative.

Insanely difficult and even more insanely well-played program. I will be following his career for sure, medal or not.

La Campánela la toque en una áudicion.
The “Gaspard de la nuit” is in the Argerich class; He made it appear effortless and his ability to play so softly and evenly is incredible. ❤
Absolute control and ultrarefined playing. Finalist material.

Bravissimo!
He didn’t pass. That’s just about the most ridiculous judgement I’ve ever seen in decades of competition.
I am flabbergasted he didn’t make the final. I predicted he would win. He or Lim..

One of the best and cleanest interpreations of Islamey I heard so far.

Yes, finalist material - and far more. Remarkable.
His Waldstein interpretation is absolutely stunning. The last movement is perfection.
Unbelievable that he didn’t pass. He’s my favorite!
Astonishingly brilliant playing. Most difficult pieces flawlessly played! Should have gone to the finals.

He was too good! that's what! all the best in your career...may God bless you!
Best waldstein i have ever heard. I agree, he should have been a front-runner.
That Islamey was mindblowing!!
This program is a cross-section of the entire piano lit! Played with originality and refinement, he should have a doctorate for this!
He will be a great winner!
Someday, he will win
Bravo !!!!!🇮🇷❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥💔
His Ondine is absolutely out of the world, one of the very rare performance of it that makes my spirit go beyond everything in this universe
An incredible Ondine! One of the best live performances I’ve heard

This is one of the best interpretations of these pieces with excellent technique.
I LOVE the tempo he took in the Waldstein 1st Movement.
The Cliburn this year will be remembered as much for the jury's omission into the Finals of Masaya Kamei as for who is selected.
