Just moved into a home with the DSC panel and keypad. I don’t know the master code nor the installer code. Is it safe to test out to see if installer code is 5555? Or would entering the wrong installer code cause it trigger some alarm (in case it thinks I am tampering with it?) thanks!
As far as I know, input a wrong password cannot trigger something if the alarm is not armed. So you should be able to try as many password as you want.
I just rented a house and the owner doesn't know how to use the alarm. While the cleaning lady was in the house to clean, the alarm went on and I couldn't turn it off. I turned it off by taking down the power fuse on my electricity panel. As soon as I turn it back on the alarm starts sounding again. How can I disable it and set a new code? Will the process you say apply while the alarm is sounding? Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately, once the alarm go on, it's impossible to do anything until you disarm it with the actual code. The only thing you can do if you don't have the code is to fully reset it, but that would required to reprogram everything.
Great video, thank you for creating it. I accidentally armed the system but do not know the codes. I tried this method but it did not work, do you think it's because it's armed? Any other tricks to find out the code when it's armed?
Yes it's because it's arme. Those menu can only be acess when it's unarmed. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to disarm other than input the code or reset the whole system... Wich mean it would have to be reprogram.
Unfortunately this is the only way. There is the full reset that will totally wipe the programing and code of your alarm, but this is not something you want to do. You can try some passcode that are use very ofter. 1234 4321 2580 1379 something around the home address... Otherwise your best option would be to contact the previous owner.
Thank you, very helpful video. but my system is VoiceNav (see it, touch it, hear it), is find the master code the same way? i had changed the battery so every time i put the arlarm on, it is repeated: "Time and date lost", i can't fix it as it needs the master code. thanks again
You will need to call the previous owner to know what was his code. There is absolutely no way else than factory restore everything if you don't know the code and it is in armed state.
Thanks for the reply. So it is still possible to factory reset? It is the type with an internal rechargeable battery not a separate battery in a wall box
How do I reprogram after canceling our monitor service to stop sending signals to avoide the error code 4 ? We have the wifi connection. The person keeps saying we need a service call or get monitoring again. Can I just disconnect the communication wire? The installer will not share the number as he says he uses the same on each house. Is there a way to find that number as well?
Hum. Well, if you don't have the code, the guy is unfortunately right. The only way you could find the code would be to do *8 and try every password between 0000 and 9999 one by one until you find it. You could pay him once and ask him to change the installer code so you can do your modification on your own next time.
Yes you could. I will do tutorial about it later this year. If you reset, yes it would solve your password problem but you would need to reprogram everything. Wich I dont suggest if you don't have experiance in programming it. Or at least until I made my full programming tutorial video.

hi, bought a house, did not get any codes. I have armed the system somehow and *8 only gives me a long beep. Any way around that? All PIR zones are blinking, also there's a trouble code 'low battery'. Can this prevent me from getting in to installer menu?

Hi Joe. Most installer use the same code at every house. That is why they keep it secret. The installer code won't let you do any of user stuff. It just there to make some modification on your alarm system.
@@HowToPM Thanks for the reply and I understand that. But I still would like to find the installer code. I have read on the internet that the installer code can arm and disarm a DSC system. I have a PC1832 controller with a 5501 Keypad. Recently the system has started going blank and is inop (no bells when opening the doors, no keypad functions, nothing). I have checked the box and the battery - power still seems to be getting to the controller and the battery is reading 13.7v. With no action on my part, it will come back on. It shows no events and no error codes. Sometimes before going blank it will double beep at about 10 second intervals 4 or 5 times and then go blank. Any ideas?
I have seen a lot of dsc keypad with a defective screen. They still work well but they screen is weird. The other option, witch is probably the actual one because you have beeping, is a short in a lower cable. Wich may be in the aux section, bell, or red black on the keybus. I really think about an intermittent short. Try to disconect devices that required power one by one to isolate the problem. Good luck. 😊
Pretty sure it's not the screen - no input at all when the screen is blank and the "open/close" beeps do not sound. So you recommend checking the connections on the back of the keypad? What does the double beep indicate? When I open a door its 5 beeps, so I assume a double means something specific.
Wow glad to find you. I have a ~15 yr old system (PC1555RKZ) I have no idea what the master code is on this house. The previous owners did not know. The ready light is green. The system light is steady yellow. All alarms on doors and windows work. I woke this morning to a low volume beep every few seconds? is there a video to explain what I am seeing and hearing? How do i reset the master code on this ? There are no arrows on the keypad? Thanks in advance.
Ouch. Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I never worked with that version of the system. It is a bit like the one I am working with but slightly different. The bip bip indicate that there is a problem, most often it is the battery in the panel that is dying. You can easily replace it. On my system, I can press on *2, then the panel gives me a number that referring to the installer guide give the exact problem.
Hello, I have the LED5508 model ( www.dsc.com/index.php?n=enduser&o=show_panels&keypad=1112 ) and I never met the original owner or was ever given the user manual. Is there any way to get the master code?
Well, unfortunately I never worked with that version of panel. It is similar but not exactly the same. However there is absolutely no way to do it except the one I show, and you need to know the technician code. I think the best way would be to find a way to contact the previous owner.
I have a DSC PC1616 with PK5508 keypad and I tried the method you explained step by step for a few times but the panel does not reset. I don't know the installer code or the Master Code and I thought they should return to the defaults (5555 and 1234 respectively) but they don't. What happens after I remove the jump wire and reconnect the power the panel returns to an armed mode and as soon as I open a door, the alarm goes off. The time and date is reset each time I disconnect the power and the battery (the battery is depleted anyways). I'm frustrated.
If you had tried the factory reset and it does not work, this mean the installer have enable a feature that almost nobody do, that avoid the alarm system to bo factory resetable. In this case, there is absolutely nothing you can do.
I'm trying to change the master code. I have what looks like the same keypad as in this video - a PK5501, and I have the installer code. However, when I type in the installer code, then 007, it beeps at me after I type 00. I tried just typing 07, but it doesn't let me change the master code. Any ideas?
How To I have a keypad that leads to the garage, but it’s not armed. Does it make a difference which keypad I’m trying to use to change the code? Also, the keypad locks up after trying a few different commands.
No that would be fine. What I mean is that any menu are blocked if a partition is still armed. But if everything is disarmed, you shoud be able to acess the installer menu. Are you sure you have the good installer password. Do you know the master code? If you only want to change it you can refer to that video : th-cam.com/video/1MMmp-r6U6Y/w-d-xo.html
I'm sure I have the right Installer Code, as it beeps correctly, and then gives me a few icons flashing on the screen (hand on keypad, a black circle with a small case i, and a door open with an X over it)... maybe that helps diagnose issues? I don't have the master code. I did a few days ago, and it worked fine, but in trying to change it (I was trying to change it to 1234 so it's generic, as we are selling our home) and the time, somehow I must have changed the master code unknowingly/by mistake.

My tenant has her DSC alarm locked for some reason, so wherever he opens the door, it causes the alarm beeping, and I don’t remember the password to unlock it
Hum. If you have tenant, you should always keep the master code for yourself, and only give them user code. If the system is armed, and you dont have any of the code, the only way will be to factory reset the alarm system and reprogram everything.
That happen in the programmer menu *8 and you must reach the wireless section *804, than you can assign the remote to *41. I will do a video about this.
I cant see anything(only ---) when I get into 007. Only a long beep. I seem to remember that in my last yeas as alarm technisian, they changed the master code. I also tried resetting the mastercode. Factory master code is 1234, and factory installer code is 5555. There is not much other way to find it. If you lost both, factory reset might be the only way, but you will need to reprogram everything.

Hi! Thank you for your comment. This is a great question. I will do a video on this one because it's a lot of operation but if I can resume this, you will have to : 1. (this video if you need help to reed binary th-cam.com/video/NdiIkqw7NUg/w-d-xo.html) 2. Shut down the system 3. Replace the keypad. 4. Reconnect power 4. program the new keypad to the same address : *8 (installer code) 000-0 then right the same partition, then keyboard position from the previous keypad. (default installer code is 5555) 5. Go back to the main installer menu by pressing #twice. 6. Type 902 to reset the supervision on connected devices. 7. Finally, you will have to set time : th-cam.com/video/meonRcT6nAg/w-d-xo.html I know its a bic complicated like this but... It's the instruction. :)
wait what, that code wasn't in binary. Binary is 0's and 1's. That number had a 2 and 3 in it. Edit: oh lol. That's a terrible way to do that but whatever. It tells you how to write a binary number so a 3 is really 100 (binary is read right to left. So 1 is 001.2 is 010. 4 is 100) as in the 3rd binary value is "on" (on meaning a 1 instead of a 0) So if they showed a 134 you'd write the binary number as 1101 which you can then convert to a number

Thank you very much for the answer@@HowToPM
Great video, thank you for creating it. I accidentally armed the system but do not know the codes. I tried this method but it did not work, do you think it's because it's armed? Any other tricks to find out the code when it's armed?
Yes it's because it's arme. Those menu can only be acess when it's unarmed. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to disarm other than input the code or reset the whole system... Wich mean it would have to be reprogram.
Quick tip, you have around 25% chance of disarm it with those code.

Thank you, very helpful video. but my system is VoiceNav (see it, touch it, hear it), is find the master code the same way? i had changed the battery so every time i put the arlarm on, it is repeated: "Time and date lost", i can't fix it as it needs the master code. thanks again
I never work with those system. This video is only about DSC pannel.
Hi. How do you find the master code on a pc4020? Menu isn't the same
Does this work on the Power series panels? Or just the Neo series?
This video was recorded with a Power Series.
@@HowToPM oh! Thank you! I don’t have the most experience with DSC, so it looked like a NEO series. Thanks for the quick response!
I inadvertently armed the DSC alarm in my new house. How do I disarm it so that I can find user code and master code?
You will need to call the previous owner to know what was his code. There is absolutely no way else than factory restore everything if you don't know the code and it is in armed state.
Thanks for the reply. So it is still possible to factory reset? It is the type with an internal rechargeable battery not a separate battery in a wall box
Is there a way to get the Installer Code. Factory reset does work. We are not able to get the Instller code.
Thank you
No way to get it unless you try one by one until you get it, or ask the installer.
Factory reset does reset the installer code to 5555.
@@HowToPM if I have that code I can silence the trouble 4? What if I factory reset?
Yes you could. I will do tutorial about it later this year.
If you reset, yes it would solve your password problem but you would need to reprogram everything. Wich I dont suggest if you don't have experiance in programming it. Or at least until I made my full programming tutorial video.
@@HowToPM ok thank you i will try and get the code
@@HowToPM so I reached out to the local company and he will not provide the code. We had it set up to send the signal through wifi instead of the land line. Can I disconnect the wifi cable ? He says i need a special system to reprogram?
Thank you for your attention ... it would be very helpful if you could make a video explaining the complete procedure. I need to solve this problem and I would appreciate it if you could help me ... thanks again ... I'll wait for the video
hi, bought a house, did not get any codes. I have armed the system somehow and *8 only gives me a long beep. Any way around that? All PIR zones are blinking, also there's a trouble code 'low battery'. Can this prevent me from getting in to installer menu?
Well... Unfortunately if you have armed the system there is no way you can get in the installer menu unless you disarme it. You may use the code... That you don't have, or a remote if one is paired to your system.
@@HowToPM can I perhaps do anything with DLC software? Or I can't connect it in armed state as well?
@@circuitdotlt Unfortunately if you can't get the code, the only wait is to try the 10 000 possibility one by one until you find the code, or factory reset it. You may try the most popular code :

Do you, by any chance, know a pinout of PC-Link 4-pin plug on the PC1616 board? I have various RS232 and UART cables, could hook it up and reprogram after factory reset.
You are welcome!
Thank you for your comment.
Unfortunately I don't.
I always program my system from keypad in *8 menu.
Great videos. I am trying to find the installer code on a DSC PC1555MX. We just moved into the house and were not given any codes. Is the installer code also an access code? Or does just entering the installer code give the standard wrong number entered alarm? I was able to determine the master code, previous owners dogs name. Installer also activated the lockout. Do installers usually use the same installer code from house to house? Or could it be owners name? Owners address? etc. Any thoughts would help. Thanks
If you have access to a DSC system and know the installer code, can you confirm that the installer code acts as an access code. That would eliminate some keystrokes in randomly trying to find the installer code. Thanks, Joe
@@joe6836 Hi Joe. The installer code can not arm or disarm the panel. However if you have the installer code and the system is disarmed, you can find the master code that can arm and disarm. But that only if the system is not armed.
@@LeStudioDePascal Thanks I do not have the installer code, so it seems all that is left is to randomly try numbers from time to time and hope I am lucky. Unless you have any other ideas.
We have this system inside but a DoorKing system outside where apparently the two systems are not integrated. We forgot our master code for the outdoor Doorking system.
I have a PC 5508Z pad, and the siren is constantly on. I have to unplug the power to silent it. How do I turn off the siren?
If you unplug the power, it will still run on the battery for few hours. You need to disconect the battery.
How To , I have disconnected for four years maybe, battery is probably dead.
Hey! I don’t have my security system set up.. but the alarm keeps going off and I don’t know how to stop it. I don’t know the password or anything. I’m just a tenant. Help!!! 🙏🏽
Disconect the battery and power supply and call your landlord. 😉
How can I find the panel serial number so I can add it to the connect alarm app?
It's probably on the main board. But I'm sure you are looking for the wrong thing, I never had need that.
How to find my user code and before i set the alarm i have to put the code in first?
There is no way to see user code. The only one you can find is the master code. You can press the house button to set the alarm.

@@HowToPMHiii! What's the difference between the installer code and the master code?
Hello, thanks for your help, how can I know how many user code had my DSC, how can I delete codes and how can I change some codes?

Enjoy! 🙂
I watched your video on factory reset, very helpful. After factory reset, I connected the system and numbers 1 to 6 lit up on LED key pad. How do I program that. Thank you for your help
Ho... Well, after a factory reset, the whole alarm system have to be reprogram. I plan to do a video on this. There is a lot of steps to go thrue.
how do i correct time on my dsc 1818 panel when i don't have the master code after it was changed
You need the master code to do any of this kind of modification.
can i have 2 different keypads on a pc 1616 (pk5501 and pk5508)
Yes of course. You should be able to install up to 8 keyboard of any model. (as long they are power series)
Hello, what is the installer code or default master code for PC1575 model?
Hi! Every DSC alarm system default master code is 1234.
Default installer code is 5555
@@HowToPM Older Power Series default install code is 5010
Wow glad to find you.
Is there a app I can use to activate my system remotely
There is some thrid party device you can install on your system so you can do so yes.

Any ideas?
Do you have a second partition like a garage that would be be still armed?
How To I have a keypad that leads to the garage, but it’s not armed. Does it make a difference which keypad I’m trying to use to change the code? Also, the keypad locks up after trying a few different commands.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but my system is a PC 1575/1580.
I finishing my contract today with ADT and I'm installing Ring. How can I uninstall my impassa scw9057 alarm system after cancel services and be able to use it as stand alone with no services? thanks
Technically, your system should keep working. The will just not call any services in case of emergency.
Well how do you find the master code on a led keypad ?
Hi dave! It's the exact same method. Your number icon will turn on as it does on this video.
@@HowToPM Actually not quite. An LED keypad will read the numbers back in Hex
This helps me understand how someone is able to hack my system
But that person would need the installer code for that.
how do I add a fob to this panel??
That happen in the programmer menu *8 and you must reach the wireless section *804, than you can assign the remote to *41. I will do a video about this.
I cant see anything(only ---) when I get into 007. Only a long beep.
I seem to remember that in my last yeas as alarm technisian, they changed the master code. I also tried resetting the mastercode. But still it is not working. I tried 1234, 4321, 0000, 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777, 8888, 9999. They are all wrong. Anyone knows what the factory mastercode is?
Factory master code is 1234, and factory installer code is 5555.
There is not much other way to find it.
If you lost both, factory reset might be the only way, but you will need to reprogram everything.

Hi! Thank you for your comment. This is a great question. I will do a video on this one because it's a lot of operation but if I can resume this, you will have to :
1. Take in note the adress of the actual keypad : *8 (installer code) 000-0 then reed the partition, then keyboard position. (this video if you need help to reed binary th-cam.com/video/NdiIkqw7NUg/w-d-xo.html)
2. Shut down the system
3. Replace the keypad.
4. Reconnect power
4. program the new keypad to the same address : *8 (installer code) 000-0 then right the same partition, then keyboard position from the previous keypad. (default installer code is 5555)
5. Go back to the main installer menu by pressing #twice.
6. Type 902 to reset the supervision on connected devices.
7. Finally, you will have to set time : th-cam.com/video/meonRcT6nAg/w-d-xo.html

Don't have owner manual
What right corner I don't see nothing
Hi Jeff. Well that's weird that after so many view nobody ever tell me I forgot to put the cards. Well I've just add it.
wait what, that code wasn't in binary. Binary is 0's and 1's. That number had a 2 and 3 in it.
Edit: oh lol. That's a terrible way to do that but whatever. It tells you how to write a binary number
so a 3 is really 100 (binary is read right to left. So 1 is 001.2 is 010. 4 is 100) as in the 3rd binary value is "on" (on meaning a 1 instead of a 0)
So if they showed a 134 you'd write the binary number as 1101 which you can then convert to a number
You got it.
The number display should not be seen as a number, but a position that is on or off.
Hai please I forgot my Dsc arm and disarm password how do
Well this is what the video explain. Unfortunately, if you forget your password while the system is armed, there isn't anything you can do to disarm it apart from a factory reset. But if you don't know how to reprogram it, I wouldn't do that.
