    Leadership isn't just a nice quality for a QB to have... it's essential. Rogers plays the QB position extremely well. He might be an OK leader. But he has nothing on Brady. Brady is the greatest leader in sports history. And he'll show that on Sunday. Everyone, including me. wanted to see a post season match up of Brady/Rogers for about a decade. QB wins matter. Brady will hand off vs pass if that's what it is going to take to win. He does not care about numbers like passing yards, touchdowns, etc. He cares about winning. From sitting back to watch Henson play at Michigan until they needed Brady to pull them out of a deficit to winning a championship followed by being the 199th pick in the draft put a chip on his shoulder that nobody has knocked off yet! His biggest competitor is himself.

    It doesn’t matter what the stats are, without even tossing a pass, Brady improves any team he is on. Just like Joe Montana, who didn’t have a powerful arm, wasn’t a mobile QB, or was he even very athletic, but he had leadership qualities like no one else. Joe and Tom have a way to make his teammates believe in them and believe that they can win with them and that quality is more important than any athletic talent.
    The other quality that Joe and Tom have is total control of their anxiety. They stay calm, even in a seemingly impossible situation and that makes the players around them stay calm and not play with a sense of urgency, thereby making mistakes. Brady proved that in the SB against Atlanta. Who else could construct such a comeback? That’s what Tom brings.

Second, Tom took a pay cut to allow them to come. Third, Tom has been a coach on the field for all of the young people - amazing Bruce Arians. Fourth, Tom has been an AB whisperer and AB wouldn't even have been playing without Tom Brady's peace-making skills. Fifth, Tom Brady has made it to the Super Bowl 50% of the years that he has been QB and nobody at all has that type of experience and experience is an intangible factor. Sixth, TB has his TB12 system and part of that system is how disciplined Tom is, everybody has said that nobody else ever shows up before Tom and nobody else stays later than he does. That might be different with COVID but still, he has gone the extra mile and no player has "fathered" a team as a player like he is doing. His taking AB into his house and helping AB deal with his anger issues and all sorts of things that have immediately changed the identity of Tampa Bay.

    Brady is unique because he did more with less . He wasn't supposed to be a starter in NFL and he worked his tails off and afterwards he wasn't supposed to be mvp and he wasn't supposed to have Canon for arm and wasn't supposed to have stats and he wasn't supposed to have championships and he wasn't supposed to have longevity and the list goes on and on..... But he defied all those things and now he is truly the GOAT 🐐 .

    Brady is the only Hall of Fame QB who is top #3 in every statistical category. Passing TD's to INT ratio. Passing yard average per year. Passer accuracy. Hes still only 1 of 3 to get 50 TD's in a season. And he has 3 MVPs. He's not just some guy.

    Brady is charmed. No doubt about it. He's a good passer, an average athlete, a terrible runner. But he's a GREAT leader who truly inspires his team mates to do their absolute best. And he doesn't brag about himself constantly like a lot of "stars". That's charisma. That's leadership.

    In my opinion for an individual to go down as the greatest player of all time they would need statistical numbers to back up their argument and Rings to back up their argument and to show that they can do it in multiple or at least two different locations and that their presence make a difference in the team's there in now there are a couple of individuals or more that can be put into that category for that argument not just being a quarterback but Tom Brady is in that argument

  • @alaw911
    @alaw911 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wins as an individual stat doesn't mean much game-by-game, but over a large sample it can show things and is a meaningful QB stat I think. (With all the exceptions, like you can saddle Matt Stafford in Detroit and really he should win more often etc.)

    Bird comes to mind for one of the greatest all-time carrier resumes. But really, does that even mean anything in the grand scheme of things? The one thing, and I think this is what these guys are driving at, that Brady will always be remembered and highlighted for is the odds he overcame. The way he did it, and how long he did it for. In the words of the great Bill Belichick "Stats are for losers". Brady's story and what he's accomplished because of it, in fact, all of the greatest players of any sport, what they overcome to get where they are is why we watch sports. Semantics are hardly ever a consideration to how one arrives. Just win Baby! If you can do that in the face of insurmountable odds and obstacles, that's greatness all day long! It can NOT be denied.

    The decision on who is the Most Valuable Player" should try and answer the question of "how would the team perform without the MVP candidate, ie with an average QB or TE or RB etc instead ? In other words, how much does the MVP candidate elevate the team. The MVP decision must not be tied to personal stats because you are missing out on the intangibles a player brings to the table.
