Great List. 😊 You are the second person who has been talking about Jesse Ownes this month. @TimBurbageReads just reviewed "Travellers in the Third Reich" and was talking about him in that book. 🙂
I have to try Sherman Alexie. I’m currently reading Francis Parkman on North America so I’ll probably bump into King Philip’s War, but I’ll probably need to supplement Parkman with newer stuff.
@@JoannaLovesHistoryBooks Thank you. I've been meaning to ask you if there are any Canadian history books you think I should add to my project. I have a couple on the list, but Canada is part of North America too.
@ Barbe Hallay is about Quebec so that would be good! In terms of your other interests I would recommend Clearing the Plain by Daschuk. I’ll think about some more! I really like his discussion of small pox.
@@JoannaLovesHistoryBooks Barbe Hallay isn't available from my library and is out of my budget unfortunately. Clearing the Plains is an option for later in my project. I found Arcadian Driftwood by Tyler LeBlanc in my library. That's immediately relevant. It should go nicely with the books I'm starting for the Seven Years' War and the Revolution. It's about the deportation of the Arcadians.
Such good "reads". Great ideas and variety. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the readability of books for children and teens!
What a fantastic list! Great books

Three books on King Philip’s war! I enjoy your American history reading lists.
@@BookishTexan Thank you!
3 wisdom teeth at once. Ouch! "Cold War space opera" has me intrigued.

@@davidnovakreadspoetry I had to look up Parkman. I'd never heard of him. Yeah. I tend to focus on newer books my library has.
If you like Devil in the Shape of a Woman, I think you’ll like The Possession of Barbe Hallay.
Oh wow I didn’t know Lackey was still writing.

@ sounds great! I’ll think a bit on some other suggestions.
