    She must have been such a Blessing to the Suffering.
    No wonder she was so loved. Can’t help but wonder how much more she could have done, if given the chance.
    Too bad he didn’t appreciate her excellent qualities. They so much outweighed any bad, I’m sure.
    Definitely Our Loss, even if He chose to overlook her.🥺

    It’s very bittersweet watching this interview, now that we’ve been privy to a lot of what was going on in the background AND that today is the 25th (?) anniversary of Diana’s death. The what could have been/should have beens is a mile long or more on how compatible they COULD have been if only he was less insecure and she was more mature and also less insecure. Two damaged people, thrust into the public eye every freaking minute must have been hell. Then to bring two kiddos into the mix? Gosh, very bittersweet. They would have been a terrific team for Britain and maybe she would still be alive.

      I don’t think he loved her. He was cruel to her most of the time. Affection? Maybe. But only because she was her sons’ mum. His actions showed resentment toward her all the time because he couldn’t be with his mistress as often as he wanted to. He’s got a very poor soul. In many ways, I feel sorry for him.

      Billions of hearts cry after the loss of a much loved Princess!
      Hundreds of millions of hearts cry after the loss of the One and Only love in their lives!
      Then come the hearts who are thankfully a minority in this world and they cry only after the loss of MONEY. The more they lose all the more broken they feel!

    They were a great team. The best. They absolutely DID love each other. Sadly, outside influences kept poking in and causing trouble. If they had been LEFT ALONE to do their thing; to "work the kinks out" [like every other couple in the early years of marriage] they would've been fine. They would still be together and Diana would still be here.

      Absolutely spot on!! I'm so glad to have seen this comment :) They WERE in love. I'm so tired of people (mostly younger people) taking information they've taken off programs like "The Crown" and completely misinterpreting the actual truth of the matter. It drives me mad. And when it DID fall apart, Diana was equally culpable. I adored her, but she wasn't a saint.

      @@charlotteq8460 no need to turn this into a generational war… there are plenty of us old farts who have the same opinion. It’s just an opinion after all. However, I would suggest you try to go back and look at their interviews and videos again from an objective view, as well as consider watching body analysis professionals discuss their opinions on the matter. Although I do agree Diana wasn’t perfect in the relationship, I think as a human being she was a good person.

      My understanding is Charles had grown very fond of Diana, Diana said they were happiest just before Harry was born.
      ~~~~~~~~
      Diana refused to follow many of the royal family rules. In the rules the spouse of a royal is required to be supportive and avoid drawing attention to themselves. Diana appears to have been a supportive wife when this was recorded.
      Everything changed by 1986. Diana was in love with her bodyguard, Barry Mannakee, in 1985-1986. Diana said he was the love of her life. Mannakee was there, he paid attention. Charles was a workaholic and often not there, and Charles was never prepared to meet Diana's emotional needs and deal with her mental problems. Charles is stoic. Diana suffered from depression, low self esteem, and self destructive behaviors including bulimia before she met Charles. Diana was extremely emotionally needy.
      ~~~~~
      Charles and Camilla met in 1970. The queen refused to approve of Camilla marrying Charles. The core of their relationship is their friendship ,they are soulmates. Camilla is Charles best friend. Charles ended his intimate relationships with women including Camilla just before the wedding but Charles was never willing to end his friendship with Camilla, she is the emotionally supportive person in his life. Diana knew in March 1981 that Charles frequently talked to Camilla on the phone. In 1992 in the Peter Settelen video, Diana said she knew when Charles rekindled his intimate relationship with Camilla in 1986. In other words Diana admitted Charles was faithful until 1986.
      In 1994 Charles confessed their marriage was irretrievably broken and that's when he resumed his intimate relationship with Camilla. Irretrievably broken referred to Diana's relationship with Mannakee. Charles ended his intimate relationship with Diana in 1986 after becoming informed of her relationship with Mannakee.
      Diana admitted she had an affair with James Hewitt starting in 1986. Diana had 8 or 9 affairs before the divorce was final. Some were married men. Diana was labeled a home wreaker by the tabloids.
      ~~~~~
      Diana had unrealistic expectations, was disappointed, became angry and combative. She was competitive instead of supportive. She overshadowed and undermined Charles. Their relationship became toxic and both were miserable. Both failed to meet each others expectations and needs. They were not compatible in many ways.
      I doubt they'd be completely shocked, the American ancestors. The American woman who married into the Spencer dynasty was married specifically for her family's great wealth. She would have been an heiress and the broke British aristocracy married these rich young women to prop up their dwindling fortunes. Think Downton Abbey. Elizabeth McGovern in fact did a TV program on this issue after Downton Abbey. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the program.
    Talent and its appearance at an early age is an interesting thing,
    At 2:35 William does not have the first faintest clue about what one does with a piano. He simply bangs and makes a noise. Harry knows that you use individual fingers and that you tinkle. As soon as William stops thumping, you can hear little Harry's attempts to play.
    The future King and Queen!!! Now there's something that would have brightened up many people's days. I think even Elizabeth II would have been happy to take it easy to hand over the reigns so she could have done retirement like her husband. She couldn't do that with Camilla and Charles because she knew they'd make the monarchy shaky again.
    • @the8thchurch461
      @the8thchurch461 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
      @@richierich7229 Sorry but what the Queen said bore no relation to reality. It was but a sentimental view that is not even practical. Did you notice the quick deterioration of her majesty after the death of prince Phillip? It quite simply became wrong for her to be in the spotlight. She increasingly looked like she should be at home being nursed. So her claim that she wanted to serve until the end of her life became impractical. In fact, had she abandoned and jumped ship at that time, it wouldn't have been an abdication. It would have been an elderly monarch recognising that her health was declining. Had Charles been exemplary, she would have handed him the reign without even an effort.
Had the Queen been you nanny. would you have liked to witness her decline in the brightest spotlight imaginable, a GLOBAL spotlight? A dearest and precious person that her majesty was to her family would have had the loved ones saying to remove her from the dog eat dog world. You just want to argue for the sake of it. Even now there are a lot of people who do not believe that she was in that coffin. Are you aware of that, or you think they know the Queen better than her?
    I guess she had a huge crush on him that usually in her age girls will have a huge crush on man who are quite elder of them so when her crush proposes her she madly fell in love with him. Due to that madness of love At some point I believe that she rather used her girly play card as we all the girls do sometimes till we get fed up with that it's like she acted the way he wanted her to be even though that's not the way she is until she is tired of it when the other person is not reciprocating the love with same effort and then she came out of that bubble.
    Then the booms 🤯 Whereas he only had an infatuation with her all while. Even after knowing that he was a cheater I guess she did everything to keep him with her even she played dirty games, but she failed that's why she is so ferocious with him. She was so vulnerable at the time, love and hate is the most destructive thing of the woman they will go to any extent when it comes to that two things due to the desperation. We all have seen how deeply she can love the people she has that big heart to love and that love is very naturally not at all fake. When that love turns into the hate just imagine if she can love ppl that deeply, then how deep was her heart. We should know we should never mess with the ppl who has the biggest heart to love because how deep their love is, that deep their hate can be. I'm pretty sure Charles will never get that deep love from camellia as Diana did. Diana loved Charles more than chamilla ever did. But in his case heart want what it want.
    It’s awful to think that after Harry was born, Prince Charles never touched his wife or was intimate with her. The day after Harry was born, he ran to Camilla. So, this interview in many ways was a farse. His cheating was out of control at the time of this interview, and Diana was also cheating on him, but not because she loved her lover, but more out of an acute loneliness in her marriage. She always loved Charles. By the way, He’s so full of it. I don’t find him an interesting speaker. He’s boring and spins everything.
Mt personal opinion is Charles never loved he but just needed a woman to give him an heir and she needed to be from money and dare I say much younger because usually an older man can control his partner. what was so heartbreaking and I remember watching the interview after the engagement and she was showing her ring and the interviewer asked Charles something to the effect about being in love and his remark was "whatever that is." The look on her face and years later she would comment on that. She really loved him and he never loved her, just used her and tossed her aside.
