His analysis was flawed. Wetlands are catchment areas that should be jealously guarded otherwise even the large water bodies will be useless in future. We pretend like life will stop with us. Generations will continue millions of years after us.
Lubigi isn’t a lakeshore. It’s a typical wetland. Mbidde was lingering over something he doesn’t know. He should leave such matters to environmentalists.

Have ever taken the trouble to find why we have or there is a change in agricultural season in Uganda now? Why we need to use things like chemicals and fertilisers on everything we grow/ plant? Why do we diseases like cancer which is now on increase than before? If you look closely you will find that all this link on climate change. Settlement in the wetlands and cutting of trees is the cause of all this. First the government was wrong to turn a blind eye when this people started using this wetlands even doing a small business in places like selling flowers or car wash bays.So this people should be forced to move out of the wetlands in order for the future generations of have a better environment and life. I don’t know if you’re happy when your kikomando is parked in kavera for you to take home and eat. You may not know the dangers in this but it’s dangerous not only to you but it’s dangerous to your family, neighbours and the country at large as it affects climate, bring disease like cancer and it affects the environment.

The said countries he is talking about care about their environment. What was there in Lubigi to show that the people who settled the area put provisions for the wildlife? We show garages in this area which was just being let in the water steam.

Conserving the environment is not about employment but sustainability development not for you and me but for the future generations to come sir. It's not wholly true that Mbidde's arguments are substantially true. He needs to know what Environmental impact Assessment means and what can be done to protect our environment and therefore our sustainability . UPE is not a brain child of Museveni but of Salamanca Conference of 1994 Spain. The conference that was attended by Specioza Kazibwe was part of enhancing development of the world children and therefore achieving millennium devt goals.
Hon Mbide is right about UPE. UPE was as a result of failure to pay back IMF and World Bank loans. Hence, Uganda was forced to use the fund to enhance children education.
