I would love to see you attempt a line less work. I've been getting into the habit of taking away line and replacing them more highlights/shadows. The results are so much more realistic and fun!

I always find it inspiring that you're still learning things and you state that you're working on those things that you find tricky, it makes it seem much more possible for someone like myself to get better if I keep practising, because art is a continual learning process. Also I wanted to ask about your layers: Do you do shadow and highlight on the same layer as each other or 2 separate layers? And do you do this per 'thing' e.g. lighting for girl, lighting for mug etc. Or per colour, e.g. girl's hair, girl's shoes (I'm confused because the shadow on her hair will need brown but e.g. her shirt will need green) Similarly for folders, do you group every layer e.g. for girl in the girl group and for mug in the mug group? (although this is for personal convenience so I get it may vary from person to person) Thanks in advance for your help! And as always for your excellent videos ^ ^
Aw thank you so much! For lighting, I do tend to do shading on one layer and lighting on the other. I do usually do it per thing, I will sometimes keep things that are the same color on the same layer if they aren't too close together. =) But in the case of this picture, I did start out with using the one shadow layer that went over all layers for the girl to make things cohesive. Then I went to each item individually. I used over 100 layers for this picture! =O For folders, I'll usually group everything for a character into one folder, but I will have the line art in its own folder inside of the folder...I hope that makes sense. ^^; The I'll usually group things as fore ground, mid ground, and background. =)

Like you could sketch with like art but not adding them at the end, just like in reality since everyone know realistic human doesn't have line art , so I wondered if you could try this with anime , I tought It could be a nice try to make no final line art.

You should try doing a mix of cell shading and the watercolor blended style. To balance the colouring to the harsh lineart
