- Victoria Pedretti is back on Collider Ladies Night for You Season 3! Back in October, we had an extended conversation about her journey in the industry thus far, but now it’s time to dig a little deeper, play some games and also discuss what Love goes through in the new season of You.
At the start of Season 3, Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love are married and have a baby. Hoping to create a safe life for their son, they move to the town of Madre Linda in Northern California. Even though they’re eager to do what’s necessary for baby Henry, we all well know that both Joe and Love have certain tendencies and patterns that make it a bit difficult for them to live the average suburban lifestyle.
During this episode of Collider Ladies Night, we retrace Pedretti's steps in the industry -- with a heavy emphasis on The Haunting of Hill House -- and discuss her approach to tackling Love's whirlwind of emotions and outbursts in You Season 3.

Gotta be Bly. Hill House you either never get to leave, if you do it's with massive PTSD, or just remain in some way permenantly attached to it. With Bly those things are possible, but more avoidable provided you don't get a glass of water or need to go to the loo at night or something.

People can say whatever they want about the character of Love but Victoria’s performance in s3 was stellar. She’s truly captivating.

@@ccrr3547 I like Hailee. I've seen her in True Grit, 3 Days to Kill, The Homesman, Pitch Perfect, Term Life, Edge of Seventeen, Bumblebee and Dickinson. But she always looks the same. I don't think she's a bad actress, but her range is not very wide.

(YOU 3 SPOILER!!) She really needs her own show where she’s the star. Netflix should make a show all about Love. Her character in You was amazing and she is an amazing actress. But frankly, You is about Joe who is a selfish toxic man. Love is flawed in so many ways too, but I think she was so captivating because she represents so many struggles women face. The pressures of being a wife, a mother, a daughter. All while having to remain calm and pretty. Love was an amazing character who I am so sad to see will no longer be in future seasons of You. Her own show would be great. One that dives more into her mind, similarly how You is in the mind of Joe. There’s so much more to know about her childhood and upbringing that they teased us with. All to be torn away in the midst of her tragic mania.
I totally agree with you! Throughout the whole 3rd season I kept saying to myself that I wanted to hear her thoughts and see her be the narrative for an episode or a lot of the scenes just like joe. I loved love and I’m so sad that she’s not gonna be apart of the series any longer. I had a feeling that joe and love would clash out at the end or one of them would end up killing eachother but I was hoping that they would just part ways and both leave the suburbs separately, that way love would still be able to come back next season, sucks that her characters gone.
100% - part of me wants me to see her escape her fate in YOU whether she comes back in season 4 or a show on her own , the female version of YOU - I honestly believe she performed exceptionally well, totally on another level of acting. Bravo Victoria 👏🏻

Supposedly a nightmare on set of s3, sorry :(. From a reliable source- worked closely w/cast on s3, as crew member. Again, sorry. Not trying to troll your thread, but we’re talking BAD behavior. Source has only worked w/her on this one set, so maybe she was going thru a difficult time, personally? Info I was given makes it ironic hearing her talk about Carla G on set of HOHH. Everyone loved Penn B., btw, and the actress who played hot neighbor (Natalie?) who was extremely pregnant during shooting. You can see it in her boobs and occasionally all over. They had to really work to hide it in some of her scenes as she neared, I believe, month 8 (!).

One of my favorite things about Victoria is how she's said in multiple interviews (including this one) she doesn't have a license/cannot drive just like whatever. And no one ever says anything about it.

Her hill house performance made the show. She is literally amazing, a breath of fresh air in the acting field. Also I can't name a better horror show than The Haunting of Hill House. If you haven't watched it, definitely give it a watch!

Just binged & finished Season 3 this past weekend. Boy oh boy - great plot lines, characters, performances, ick factors, etc. Penn Badgley definitely doesn’t disappoint BUT Victoria Pedretti as Love steals the show!!! She acted & emoted her a$$ off & seriously is the ONLY character that gives Joe a run for his narcissistic, psychotic, delusional money. Season 3 is sooooo freaking good! CAN’T WAIT to see what’s in store in Season 4!!!! 🧁🔪💉
