Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting the second largest complex of Orthodox monasteries in Greece, first is Mount Athos
Meteora is located near the town of Kalabaka at the northwestern edge of the Plain of Thessaly 358 km from Athens and 230 km from Thessaloniki.
In Meteora from 9nth till 17nth century 24 Monasteries were founded but today open and can be visited are 6 (the 6 that you can see in the video). Meteora was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.
