My Grandmother died in Newbridge in 1918, aged just 28. She was born Mary Barnes in about 1890. I'd like to find out more about her if anyone can help. Thanks for the excellent video. It gives me a flavour of where she lived.
Remember my father telling me that the police officer standing outside, what is now, the Bank of Ireland in the last photo, was carring a pistol behind his back. That's what the kid is looking at so intently.
