i remember trying to listen to the first vid you published and the AI voice was "AAAAAAHHHHHH" lol almost a year later i tried it again and Im so glad that i down played the voice and then couple of vid after you got rid of the ai. that was the best! you earned it and we (i'd like to think i speak for all of us) appreciate it and truly enjoy your book choices. thank you ))))
Dess, my man. At the beginning I thought that the AI voice would make it quite easy to get the channel started and I was right, but the more I recorded with AI, the less satisfied I became. And since I want to provide good quality content for you, the switch to my own voice was the only correct decision. And as you can see, it worked out, thanks to you and the others that are part of this community. So let's keep on trucking - happy to have you around 🫡😎
Dude I wait all freaking week for your stuff , makes my life digging rocks in the gemfeilds of Queensland nearly bearable. Top notch stuff, making Sundays great again
@@TrenchDiaries even worse than that bro I run my own business and I'm the only man on the job so you push yourself even harder to succeed. There's lots of dirt in between every pretty sapphire.
@clintoncyrilvoss4287 Huge respect for you being self employed and grinding all day long. I can imagine that it must be extremely shitty at times, but hey - you are your own boss so that has to count for something 🫡
Congratulations! Hitting 5k subscribers comes as no surprise to people who have been following this channel for any length of time. Well done and see you at 10k!
Congratulations! My question would be, what made you start to translate these books in to English and spend hours reading the stories to us your audience when you could be enjoying other things. Also, what stories do you have in mind for the future? ❤
Congratulations. I have enjoyed all of your content. My late father, as a teenager, served on a Royal Navy frigate (out of vanity they called them destroyer escorts) based in Belfast. He sailed on a convoy to Russia in October/November 1944. He never spoke of his experiences, but since his early death the internet has thrown up a lot of information both direct and peripheral about the conditions facing Escort Group 3. Your channel offers a different perspective and i appreciate it. Thank you
Congrats J, your hard work has paid off, & the German accent is coming along nicely, you've been practicing! May I suggest a couple of books;- 'Stormbird' by Luftwaffe ground attack (but also fighter ace - a rare breed) Herman Buchner (who finished the war flying & scoring in the Me262), & his tactical/ground attack & fighter missions over the Eastern Front, which includes the witnessing of a personal tragedy, of literally 1 in 'X' Millions. Tank! - 40 hours of battle August 1944 - Based on one Allied Sherman tank crews experiences in Normandy, in the battle that saw & describes Michael Wittmann's last action. It's like a Wild West shoot out at times. Both are fast paced, great reads, & tell of the Organizational side, technology side, but most importantly, the human side/face of war.
Thank you for the recommendation, I must say that I have never heard of "Stormbird" before, but I will put it on the list for sure. Also thank you for being around, always nice to see "my regulars" 😎 towards the next 5k!
After a 12 hour shift on a drillship in the black sea hearing these stories is so relaxing. Congratulations on the channel becoming more popular, keep them coming . Would we hear the story of the U-123 with Reinhard Hardegen one day?...
Happy to provide some relief my friend! I'd imagine it's some hard work you have to do, but quite satisfying as well. Stay safe! I'll keep posting stories 🫡
Congratulations on 5000 Subscribers Trenchie! Also thanks for the shout out, I wasn't expecting that, but you know that I like to comment to encourage you and to mess with the algorithm. It's an Aussie thing to want to screw with 'Big Brother' in any way that we can! 😂 It's been a quick 15 months!😮 Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
I found this channel 5 or 6 episodes into the iron coffins series! I had finished the book and wanted to re-read it in an 'audio book' format, and that's how I found your channel!
I enjoy how its almost like the soldier is telling the story himself, you being German adds that extra layer, my questions are whats Germanys opinion on its modern military? I know you said the opinion on marksmen wasnt that great back then, is that still the case today?
Congrats on the recent boost. Snipers, eh. I'm grateful for this channel. I hope the new guys/gals can get some questions in about that they are wondering about. I guess I should know this already, but my question is : Is it J, Jay, Jee or Jai? One should use to address you properly. Thanks, and have a lovely week.
GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA! Thank you for your continued patronage, it means a lot, as you know, especially from regulars like yourself. You're question is noted, the answer may be a bit confusing 😅
Excellent videos, great commentary, very professional.
Thank you Jim, so happy to have you as a member!

Thanks for all your efforts. Just a great channel that deserves (and with time will get) a lot more than 5k subs. Best wishes.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I am a bit overwhelmed!

I was wondering if someone would recognise it 🇿🇦
The voice narration is great, along with the stories chosen by you to share as well.

You deserve so many more subs than 5k. I keep wondering why the algo keeps the man down.
Thank you my man. In time, more subs will come I'm sure!
