I made a flat (as opposed to ruffled) bedskirt about five years ago. And yes, I did use velcro. I purchased some that was peel and stick, which I used for the bed frame. However, I did stitch the velcro to the fabric part, so I could remove it for washing. Be aware that it is not necessary to have one long, continuous strip of velcro. A small piece every eight inches or so will do the job.

I always love the fact that you show ways to make your home beautiful in simple, easy ways! Some people you automatically know they are going to say they got this or that at home goods, target, etc. Not that shopping at those places is a crime, but when you feel there is better places for your money, it is disheartening. You should be very proud of the fact that you show how to make your home beautiful and do it easy and very budget friendly

Ive used duct tape and taped the skirt right to the box spring. My master bedroom has stayed for 5 years thus far. Also when my boys were babies I sewed flat panels much like you did only I finished the panels on all 4 sides. Then I attached the panels to the metal crib frame using outdoor carpet tape. It made for super clean seamless look. Carpet tape holds like crazy, but is also easily removable with a firm pull when you are ready to redecorate. Your boys room turned out so precious! Love the bead board ceilings!!❤

The many uses for drop cloths ❤️. I just simply cut fabric and tuck between mattress and box spring. I have yet to have it come out or get all wonky. I would be very leery with the upholstery brads. I would be the one that would step on one of it came undone. 🤪 I also have used fabric that has a finished bottom. Like eyelet that has a real pretty border. Looks so high end. I love your style.

I’ve hot glued a dust ruffle to a frame before too 😂 My mother in law kept my husband’s gorgeous white wicker bassinet and I applied a pink ruffled dust ruffle with hot glue which turned out beautifully. And when I was a little girl my mom and I used a staple gun to apply a dust ruffle to my wooden bed that my dad made.

With two black labradors in the house, a washable bedskirt is a must have. I have opted for an elastic style that simply stretches around the box-spring and tucks under the mattress. It does shift a bit, I'm thinking a few strategically placed tacks would solve that issue. Great hacks and tips Andrea!

Good morning beautiful lady I like the idea of putting skirting on the bed where it doesn't make us crazy but I also came across an alien tape I don't know if you seen that advertised on TV or not. But it's the coolest thing right up there with velcro LOL. It's sticky on both sides and you can pull it off and reuse it. And it's clear. Alien tape has so many uses. The house I'm renting has really weird kitchen windows and I wasn't going to invest special order blinds, that would have cost way too much money just for a renter. So I invested in those paper shades that are only $6 a piece it'sl peel stick but I use the alien tape instead cuz it's a lot stronger and a lot more dependable and it holds them up perfectly...So that's what I used for my bed skirting. 🛌 .🦋💐🦋Thank you once again for sharing.Love from Florida. 😎

IKEA has really long curtains (think fabric) and they include the fusible webbing, so that you can hem your drapes. You could buy a set of drapes so much less expensive than regular yardage. I have beautiful velvet drapes that could easily be converted into a bed skirt. All the edges are already hemmed, woohoo! Im glad that you shared this hack. I have a flat sheet that has a hole. I’m going to convert it to the base of my new bed skirt.

Lovin' your custom diy bed skirts, Andrea!💖 Each choice of fabric compliments your room designs so beautifully!!
I've been looking for a CA king white bedspread, large enough to avoid a bedskirt, but sure glad to have these options!!
For two of our bedrooms, as well as both baths, hubby made simple white tieback curtains to fit our smaller ranch size windows. We used tablecloths remaining from past parties for all three of our Kids' graduations, wedding and baby showers. They've been in bins for years, but still in pristine condition! You can bet I'll be using them for bedskirts, too, Sweetie pie!!😉 Excited thinking about your solution!
