    A little hint, to avoid rounding up the screws holding the fred-connector-board: do NOT apply as little pressure as possible, but the opposite. Apply as much pressure as you can without breaking the board itself because rounding screws happens when the screwdriver flips over the screw-slit which only can happen, when the screwdriver isn't pushed in enough.
    Otherwise, great video = )

      i opened my guitar and the board has a rounded screw and i cant open it, any suggestions?

    • @Bambuzzsprosse
      @Bambuzzsprosse ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@VintageGameZ If it's completely round you can use a plastic-pen and melt the plastic with for example a lighter. Press the hot plastic into the screw and let it cool off. Take another pen, melt a bit more and apply it as well to create more stability. If you're lucky you can turn the screw without the plastic breaking.
      If the screw is not completely round but still has some rounded-off notches simply use a bigger screwdriver.

    I got an Xplorer yesterday, the buttons were so bad.. the buttons were high af on the fret, kept getting stuck, stiff af worse than Amazon's guitar... I modded it poking holes with the pin and loosened the screws so it goes in the fret more.. filed down the button's sides so it doesnt have friction... fucking smooth af now its actually playable.. better than all the guitars I have now. Thank you so much for this!

    I watched this on my Xbox so I want you to know and appreciate that commenting was a bit more of a chore than usual.
    However, I was watching this video and as I got to the end after being enthralled by the contents of the neck I was slightly disappointed that you didn’t cover the body; I was excited to see that part.
    I was tempted to move onto another video when something in my brain told me to watch your outro. It was here that you mentioned part 2 being out already if the video was more than a couple days old. I looked, saw the video was posted 4 months ago and instantly I was excited again because I knew it’d cover the body.
    I just wanted to thank you for putting that little extra bit into the video. I might not have seen pt 2 if it wasn’t in there. I’ve got it paused as I type this, I’m about to give it a watch as soon as I press enter.

    • @Cobalt985
      @Cobalt985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      kailh choc switches are what acai's custom guitar uses but they needed a special PCB. I believe the reason they chose Kailh Choc switches over Cherry's low profile line is because of the way their frets sat on the switches. anyways, it's not just a drop-in replacement.

    Lol btw that's not rust, its the silicone they put on the connections to help keep water and other things from getting into them and also helps hold them in place. Just thought I'd share that because someone might get the wrong idea and think water damage or something is wrong. Its on all the guitars and usually only on the bottom screw.

    a couple of tips that i have found really help! if you open up your guitar a lot buy a pack of lil 1cm cross head screws, this means you only need one screwdriver to do the whole thing and if one screw breaks you can just replace it. this one is for world tour/gh5 guitars only, take out the things on the head of the guitar and keep the screws around so if one of the screws holding the board on breaks you can just replace it (the screws work with les pauls and tour guitars i know that idk about the other guitars). Hope these help a bit :)

    GEORGE, a lot of the GH controllers I buy have extremely stiff frets when I push them down, like from the green to orange fret, it gets progressively stiffer and CREAKY, like the plastic is rubbing against the frets themselves causing friction and stiffness. I’ve tried at least 3 different GH3 necks and a lot of have the same issue, I’ve even tried carving some of the black neck plastic in between the frets but it doesn’t seem to solve it. I’ve been wanting to get back into GH trough CH and the Wii USB adapter but this has been my bane for so long.
    Problem might be too specific but I figured you might have experienced it at some point or another, what do you think? Stank you smelly much 🤙🏼

You will get a more consistent result. Probably would want to use a razor or xacto knife for the cutting too.

    Little tip, if you are worried about the screws getting stripped replace them with the same style screws but better quality

    Can I do this with an xplorer rubber thing?I know it has a different shape but do I have to do the same cut procedure?

    I have one of the old exbox 360 stratocasters. It's even got the lower neck buttons that are closer together and are way easier to solo with. Anyway, those are some nice tats Ukog.

    with cutting the rubber, less is more, i'm lucky i have a spare guitar for doner parts but after using it with 2 little slits and a poke, it felt less responsive like an arcade guitar

    They sell special drill bits for removing stripped screws if you do accidentally round them while trying to do this mod

    Maybe if you put a tiny bit of some sort of glue on the edges of where you cut the rubber won't tear as fast

    Its either a T15 or a T20 screw driver I think, T20 speaks to me stronger though. if you round it out just use an alan key.
