      I have my grandfather’s Omega. It NEVER occurred to me until now to take it to their service center. It hadn’t run for many years when I asked to have it after my father’s death. I had someone in the Diamond District get it to work years ago and I paid more than it’s probably worth. I still adore it, but will consider the “real” service center for the next time.

      Nice topic and content. Your watch looks great so the service costs is good and worth it for that particular timepiece (if it were the service cost for a Fossil watch I’d say buy a new one which is not the case here). It’s great you took advantage of the service and are able to have a refresh of your timepiece that is meaningful to you. Love it. Thank you for sharing.

      I own a pre-loved 2008 Tank Française with a mother of pearl face (which I believe has been discontinued since) and I absolutely adore it. Like you, I don’t feel the need to buy any other watch - I feel like I’ve found the one. 🥰

    Several years ago when Cartier brought back the Panthere watch, I brought in my mom’s vintage Panthere from the 1980’s to be serviced. They totally refurbished the watch for free because they were running a special at the time due to the relaunch of this model. Plus they gave me a loaner watch because one of the parts was going to take months to get. This was truly a first class experience. Your watch is beautiful! Very classic, elegant and refined - just like you!

    I too just had my Cartier Santos watch serviced and I can’t believe how beautiful it looks. My watch is 15-18 years old too, I thought i had replaced my battery a couple of years ago but when I took it in they said there was a cracked button and they wanted to do a full service. It cost me about the same as yours but when I got it back it was immaculate! All the scratches were buffed out and it looks like they not only replaced the sapphire button but the stainless watch strap as well. It doesn’t even look like my watch. I wore this watch daily for years, but when I bought my Apple Watch I stopped wearing it as much and when the battery died I just kept in the safe until I was able to go into SF to get it serviced. I’m going to start wearing it again!! Can’t beat Cartier service!

      My lighter is being serviced by Cartier .
      Over 20 years old.
      Have they been good to me ?
      Yes would be an understatement.
      Let's say it's a lesson in humility for me.
      & I need that lesson every day.
      Remember the Lord's Prayer ?
      They do.

    My father gave me 2 watches that are both now more than 30 yrs old: a Baume & Mercier and Tag Heuer. Like you, I never found a reason to buy any other time piece. I know it’s time to have them serviced at some point as they have never been… They mean so much to me because they’re from my dad and all the memories I have with them. Thank you for your videos ❤️

    My carrier watch is 17 years old as well! I wear it daily still and have replaced the battery twice already…it’s the tank. Love it. I treated myself to it when I sold my home FSBO shortly after getting engaged in 2005.

    Thank you for sharing your experience! Wow, I didn’t know they could remove the scratches. That gives me so much more confidence to go ahead and purchase one of their steel watches. That’s a beautiful watch; why did they discontinue it?? I own a Cartier Tank with leather straps, a gift from a friend 36 years ago ☺️. I rarely used it because it’s so precious and I’d taken it in for servicing probably only once or twice. I agree their customer service is tops. I’m using it more these days though. As I get older, I feel like I should just use my stuff and not store them.

      You may have forgotten.. they told me when I bought my love bracelet (and other jewelry) that they can remove scratches (2 or 3 times for the lifetime of your purchase).

    This made me wanting to buy a Cartier watch. Impressed by the great service. I know you mentioned this model is discontinued. But what is the size for your watch? Small, or medium, compare to their current watches? Thanks 😊

    • @hellocatwalkcity

      I would say it’s small to medium size.

    i also own the same santos demoisselle (15 yrs old!) and so disappointed when i learned it was discontinued. hopefully it makes a comeback :) is your watch the smallest face size (model 2698)? i know there were 2 sizes available and curious about the size difference... maybe i should have gone with the case size... :T

    Why didn’t your prior 2 battery changes without service invalidate the warranty?

    • @hellocatwalkcity
      @hellocatwalkcity  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s because the watch was still less than 10 years old when I got the batteries changed the last two times.

    Beautiful watch and lovely gift. I think what you paid was very reasonable. Would never buy Rolex. I have 2 friends who have had multiple problems with their expensive Rolex watches. My husband had his Tag watch serviced approx 10 years ago and that cost £250 so you have had great service I think.

    • @sharonirons9828
      @sharonirons9828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have paid $1200 both times my Rolex went back to the factory, First time, I dropped it on a terrazzo floor, OUCH! The second time it had condensation under the crystal, and it had water seepage. I will admit I have now had it for 20 years. The price to have this Cartier serviced is a bargain. My next watch will be a Cartier.

      Hehe sorry, it was just a quick service visit so not much to see. Just wanted to share what it’s like if you ever need your watch serviced with Cartier (and the results). My other videos have more “action” and eye candy. 😂
