Do not trade skubal. Period.
If you can get a truly elite offensive prospect like Colby Mayo for Skubal, then you go for it. Mayo is one of very few prospects out there that we could count on developing into a future cornerstone player. I'm not interested in trading him for 3-4 mid range prospects that probably wind up being mediocre.
Kind of assuming Harris would be able to pull off a value trade for Skubal and get an everyday hitter for the lineup and some high-level prospects. So far, Harris has shown signs of being risk-averse and that is NOT how you build a contender. Here's a thought: Does anybody in the front office have a list of players on other teams that would fit their "vision" and could be acquired?
I dunno, maybe Lynn Henning would like to see Skubal traded so he can write some more of his dribble about the AA prospects they get in return. Yeah, let's trade Skubal, then Greene, then Carpenter and on down the line until the farm system is flush with more guys who come up to the big club and get their heads all twisted around by Hinch the wizard and the stable of coaches doing the job one guy used to be able to handle, and if any of them start to pan out they can be traded too. What a stupid f-n idea. If they do trade him, it will only be about the money, and if its only going to be about the money, sell the f-n team Illitch. If you want guaranteed profits from a sports team buy an NFL franchise.
We better get Betts, Semien or Acuna, plus a lockdown left-handed reliever, if we do the sacrilege of letting Skubal go. No trade for minor leagues please. KEEP SKUBAL.
