A GOTHIC GHOSTLY HORROR STORY FOR CHRISTMAS 2023. `THE GATHERING`

- Living in Transylvania has given me an inner focus on the region's history, culture and people. And a particular emphasis on its legends. In fact, and rather strangely perhaps, I have personally experienced some of the spookier aspects depicted in the story. The record playing happened twice while sitting on the verandah during a hot and balmy evening. And, of course, the figure of a woman flitting across the hallway. I never found the source of the music playing and have yet to see the woman's shade again.
The story introduces an ancient Carpathian creature of legend called the `Strigoi`. When Bram Stoker inspired Dracula, it would be from this manifestation. Its last recorded appearance was during the era of Nicolae Ceaușescu, the former Romanian leader.
This is an entirely original story with little relation to Stoker's work, which, I have to say, was an incredible story.
This tale is the first chapter in a book I am writing as a trilogy. This and subsequent texts will be appearing in printed form on Amazon. I'm unsure whether I should also perform an Audible version, but I'll leave my linguistic abilities to your opinion.
In this version released for Christmas 2023, I have added AI imagery, which I have to admit was a real struggle to get the program to produce the pictures I wanted.
I am still producing film work for future releases but am also focusing on writing.
I do hope you enjoy the story, as I particularly enjoy writing a great deal.
