    Just had two separate bridges removed 4 days ago and it was absolutely horrific! They did the hammering on one and cutting and prying on the other. It was quite barbaric. I am definitely traumatized now. I went through so many emotions. My bridges lasted 17 yrs and what was under them was disgusting. I am sure they were making me sick. I can never recommend someone getting these types of bridges ever again. I was young and under the impression they were forever. I had no idea what I would one day have to go through. Now I have to wear a denture anyway., I watched this video before I went in and I am glad I did. I at least had some sort of idea what I was in for. Came back to thank you for the knowledge. 😉 Now all that’s left is healing 😮‍💨

    I just had my bridge removed with a slide hammer, it was a harrowing experience. It may be because the bridge is the top 6 front teeth. I still have a headache

    I watched one of the prosthodontic faculty use the sliding back action hammer to remove single PFM crowns (at least that's what they looked like from a few feet away) on a couple of patients the other day in clinic. But I'm not sure if D3s or D4s are permitted to use it. The patients didn't seem to complain since it was done fairly quickly and without too much force.

    I had a crown made for a front tooth on top and my dentist put in a temp while we waited for the crown. When I came in for replacement, the temp was so stuck that the dentist used a pull/tap tool. I hated it!!! In fact, I will ask future dentists ahead of time to make sure they won't use that nasty tool. : )

      Hi, the endodontist should be able to drill the fiber post out. Was this a single tooth or part of a bridge?

    Thank god my dentist listened to me, at first try he's using the Air Powered Crown Remover and then i have to tell him to stop and use grinding the crown bridge instead. because it hurts to your brain nerves and i'm afraid that my real teeth will fall off to because that remover is so strong!

      Hi, to remove the old cement from the bridge I will either sandblast it or drill it out and then sandblast it.

      No, these tools aren't for extracting teeth, they are used for removing crowns and bridges but usually the crown or bridge needs to be cut off.

    Hi I will be having a full mouth extraction the dental receptionist said their dentists don't do extractions /they use a periodontist for full mouth extractions / do periodontists have experience with full mouth extractions

    • @VeryNiceSmileDental
      @VeryNiceSmileDental  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes periodontists have experience with full mouth extractions. Some dentist don't like extracting teeth so they will refer the patient to a periodontist or an oral surgeon. Thank you very much for watching.

      I understand every mouth is unique / on average how long after a full mouth extraction will it take for the gum to heal over the extraction site /I don't mean completely heal / but just over the extraction site itself so no food can enter the site/ also how soon after full mouth extractions can I use Listerine mouthwash it contains alcohol Thank you

      The gums will heal in a week or so if everything heals normally. It will take several months for the gums to smooth down since the bone under the gums has to heal. You can use Listerine after a few days. If it stings then just use plain or salt water for rinsing.

    Is this is a painful process…?

      Usually anesthetic is used to numb the tooth before the crown or bridge is removed. You do have to be gentle with the pneumatic crown remover, to much pressure at the wrong angle can damage the tooth.
