I would if I had children 🤗. It's truly beautiful to see you both with your children have a blast great fun so 💖 warming to👌. Big Respect to you both much Love Respect Kindness To You all From Paul👍😁
The kids are the reason I got back into riding after 16 years. Had to break out into a run to keep up with them on their bikes, so figured I may as well join in the fun. Best decision I've made this year.
I hope you're still riding and having fun. I hated cycling the first 15 years of my life but within a week of getting a rather good bike (~400€) from my older brother, I loved it. A decent bike can make a massive difference.
"Let's do mud.. let's do mud... droppin in" ... Blake was never that cute I'm sure. That sound bite needs to be used in future show reels.. AWESOME VIDEO!!
@@Cous1nJack i knew that was coming...😂. It doesn't matter, they are both married to women cornwall. So PC and so sensitive this new generation of kids. Relax people enjoy life.
I use a Shotgun seat for my 3 year old daughter and a Cleary Hedgehog with knobby tires for my 5 year old. We go mountain biking all the time and they love it! Edit: I have a full face helmet for my daughter... I've had visions of her mouth hitting my bars.
I love riding with my son, so much it inspired me to create my channel. My favorite thing to do is to put a gopro facing towards my son and seeing and hearing all of his reactions.
I'm just waiting for my grandson to get big enough to come for a ride and your video was massively helpful for when the 10 month old gets a little bigger, 2 should be a good age to shred with his pops, thank you for great advice I can remember to implement into our day 👍
This is a brilliant video. Went straight from a balance bike to a second hand Islabike with my daughter when she was 4 and she learnt to ride in an afternoon. Now, a year later, we went on a 10km ride yesterday. Most important thing is the supply of Fruit Pastels to cheer her up when she wants a break or falls off. She loves muddy puddles too!!!
Riding with kids is absolutely fun! My kid says he'd rather MTB than play video game now! We've gone from a kick bike to 16" "mtb" to 18" bmx to 24" GT, then the latest upgrade has been a 2005 Transition Bottlerocket. I've learned that there's a huge gap in quality bikes for kids 9-14 yr age. Either you got a 24" hardtail or an adult sized 27.5". Gotta have the right sized bike to keep them progressing! Got my kid hooked on black diamond trails and working on jumps with style. Bring back the 26ers!
I loved watching this with my little rippers, aged 4 and almost 2. The eldest loves shredding the blue trails, with the odd tie up the hill. And his little brother is keen to get out on the Mac Ride.
My son started off on a 6v quad at 8 months old and now at 3 years old he's riding a pocket rocket. I absolutely love riding with my boy. I'm about to pick us up some dirt bikes soon. I just put him on the bike with a helmet and sent him on his way. 😂
I have learn that its important to not ride in evenings when bugs come out and might hit the small people in thier eyes. But apart from that its super fun to get out and ride with your kids!
My 2 yr old was awesome on his balance bike and even doing the local pump track with a push on the steep sections. I got him riding his new pedal bike just before his 3rd birthday and also noticed he started to lose interest in going on his bike. I took the pedals off but it wasn’t the bike he’d had all that fun on before. Wish I hadn’t of pushed it in one way but he’s slowly coming round to the new bike now but it’s just something to be mindful of. What might seem fun for you isn’t necessarily what they see as more fun.
I’m not there yet as my lad is too small but he loves Daddy’s bike and loves a trip to the bike shop already! He’s a bad influence pointing to all the expensive ones! I cannot wait for our first ride together!
Little bit disappointed that Blake wasn't sending table tops and whipping it with the nipper on board! And Neil, surely you could fit some BMX truck nuts instead of cranks for poor Lucas so he can keep his feet up! 🤣👍 Nice one.
Thanks guys! Another great video! Been thinking how best to get my little guy out on the trails without mom losing her mind... now I have a video to show her that it can be done!
I got my 6-year-old daughter riding after a lot of trouble learning. She became an absolute shredder and I decided to take her to my local trail. We were going down a fire trail with a little bit of a dip that led to another uphill, she turned around to me and said, "watch this daddy, I'm going to pick up some speed" Right around the bottom of the dip her back wheel started fishtailing and she ended up face first in the gravel.... It happened so fast all I could say was, "wait hold on" and she was gone. She was okay and got up and rode back to the truck just fine. But it was definitely a pivotal moment. I could see her making a decision in her head if this activity was worth the pain it required. It's a realization we all have to come to but I'm glad she chose to continue forward with it.
Sure do, I've had a shotgun seat on my commuter bike since my daughter was about 18 months old. Now she's 4 and has a big girls bike she wants to be independent, until she gets tired and I have to tie her bike on to the back of mine and put her on my bike to get home. So cool to see you and your kids enjoying riding together.
2 cool dudes there and I'm not talking about Blake and Neil 😊 Your boys stole the show guys 👊 Dropping in by mini Blake 😊 I ride with a tag along on my bike and my youngest lives it, just got him a bigger bike for Christmas too as he out grew his 1st one quickly Great video #GMBN 👍
I love the Shotgun seats! I have one on my 2020 Levo and my Mrs has one on her Enduro Expert, can't recommend them enough! Keep up the great videos guys!
I would recommend skills parks for riding with kids because it has fun and progressive features for all skill levels and ages. It will also teach them valuable skills for the trails
Might have to pick up a shotgun seat soon for my youngest. I really recommend the followme tandem adapter for helping children to learn to ride their own bikes and transition from balance bikes. After 4 or 5 rides on the followme tandem at a gentle speed they just get it. I think when they start they don't realise that you need a bit of speed to balance, and they are scared of any speed. The tandem bracket reduces their fear of speed massively. Also means you can control them safely in traffic on the road.
Hi GMBN thanks for the great video would it be possible to give a bit more info on tow ropes and if possible a home made one e.g. what is a good length and whether you need bungy in there and also any quick release ideas? Thanks that would be a great help.
my son has a norco fluid fs1 2.0 for his upcoming birthday he doesn't know about. I completely agree don't force your kids !!! Let them go at their own pace and coach them
Could you do a review for some of the kit and gear available , i.e child seats kidde carriers etc. Would really appreciate some ideas of what is good, enjoyable and works ☺👍
My son loves to ride... Without stabilizers since he was 3. He's now 5 and this summer he had a really bad fall going down a hill, he went over the bars and the first thing that hit the floor was his chin. He had a normal helmet on but he landed face first. He was immediately concussed and ha no idea what happend and why there was so much blood. He was back on his bike 3 days later and now doesn't ride without his full face helmet. 👍
Resisting the urge to overdo it was the big one for me! Always, always leave them wanting more (even if it means you have to sneak out on your own again later)
Also the kidsrideshotgun bungee is great. It really widens your options in terms of terrain and you don't need to worry so much about them bonking and cutting your ride short.
I'm disappointed... I thought I would see Blake doing a backflip or a whip with his boy! ahah great video guys! I love to go mtb with my 5yo, I use a towwhee rope like Nino and his daugther! Long familiy ride are awesome
As much as we both love our bikes I've never been able to justify the cost of the Shotgun. We've had the same problem when transitioning our son from balance bike to first pedals. He just doesn't want to pedal forward.
Do you ride with your kids?

“Neil and Blake both have kids of their own” that seems like a very very carefully written sentence 😅

Leaving brakes on and taking crank off is genius move
Yup, got to agree with that! My daughter was shredding her balance bike but once on a peddle bike things went backwards.
