Ladies - please watch the clip of Manson's interview from Bowling for Columbine. If you like him now, you'll love him after you hear what he has to say.
The Columbine shooters actually didn't listen to Manson; in fact, they were not fans at all. He just happened to be the big controversial rock star of the moment, so the media pointed the finger at him.

It’s true what everybody says, he’s a very smart person. Intelligent, knowledgeable, and well spoken. I’d actually be super interested to see a reaction to some of his interviews from the past. Especially ones dating back to the late 90s or so where he would be accused of influencing school shootings and other violent crimes. His responses were always so calm and composed, and even more so they were logical and made you think.
You could tell a lot of interviewers just thought they were going to have an easy time tearing apart the “freak show” and were very taken back by his responses.

Manson has said before since his name derives from Marilyn Monroe which would have been the good of society and Charles Manson the bad of society, his name is the good and bad of society. Think about it. There is a lot of "positive music videos and songs" out there but then you have Manson who people may think is "really disturbing or bad". So he balances the world out. You can't have the good without the bad. Might I suggest "Coma White", "Personal Jesus"', "I Don't Like The Drugs But The Drugs Like Me", "mOBSCENE", "Tainted Love" are are really good ones he has made. He is a really good artist and makes a very good point with lyrics. He is also very intelligent when you listen to his interviews. Thanks Grannies! Love this channel ❤

And I was like 12 or 13 years old when this came out... I'd never seen anything like it. I became instantly fascinated by him and I've been a fan ever since.
In regards to the Columbine shooting: The media nearly destroyed his career by blaming him, and the shitty part was that the kids who shot all those people didn't even like his music.

I love this story, but my mom had the pleasure of seeing Manson live once. She and her friend had seats around the edge of the stadium they were at, and they could kinda see backstage. She said he was up running around the stage, very active for the whole show, and then after the last song he went backstage and literally collapsed into the arms of a couple of his roadies exhausted. Marilyn Manson, being the icon he was, of course started getting chants for an encore. She said he caught his breath for a moment, and went back out and did another song, just as active as he was for the whole set.
Amazing musician and performer, and as soon as you start digging you can see how much passion he puts into his work.

A Manson video that I find strange no one reacts to is. Man that you fear. One of my absolutely favorite songs of his. Underrated for sure.

I was one of those Kids in wierd places for Manson...
Between his AWESOME music, and his soft, well spoken appearances on talk shows... he helped me a LOT in HS.

I saw it performed live, before the Smells Like Children EP came out... It blew everyone's minds in the crowd, and I'm sure we all bought it when it hit the shelves.

Manson is a marketing genius. He knows people will be disturbed and challenged when they see the imagery he puts out, it's part of his shtick and it's worked well for him (cha ching $$$). However, Ido feel like you paid more attention to the imagery than the song itself and the musicality of it. Ladies just know he is an extremely intelligent and sensitive human being. Huge Manson fan here and hope someday one of you lovely ladies will look any of his interviews where you get to see the man behind a mask.

You just made my day when you said that he did young people a service by getting that message out there, thank you both for having such open minds. Manson was practically the devil when I was in high school, didn't get to listen to him much until college and I've been a huge fan ever since. Thank you both again and have a great day!

Known Manson (Brian Warner to me) since like 1990, to me he's a good friend, a very smart guy, and owner of the largest lunchbox collection I have ever seen. Used to hang out with him a lot back in Florida when he was coming up in the name of Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids...but he is a good guy.

I don't know your musical background but if you happen to remember Alice Cooper back in the 70's there was a similar reaction to his performances. Decapitations on stage, horror elements, face paint, it was all intended to shock the audience. Marilyn Manson took the same concept and pushed it further.

Marilyn Manson has been one of my favourites since I was 10 years old. I just think the band as a whole is incredible. My favourite song by them is Cake & Sodomy.
