QFNW Hey Bossk! Another GREAT episode! With the new “Streets of Mos Eisley” set coming out, do you think the new playset will “plug in” with the upcoming Haslab Cantina? It appears they both have the 3 tabs/holes and the plastic/color scheme seems to correlate. It would be awesome to build out the outside scene of the Cantina! I’d love to see Hasbro “build-on” to their previous designs to really help collectors who love to world build!
Excellent Q&A once again BB! I watched one of Katie Sackoff's excellent TH-cam posts a little while ago and she interviewed Paul Sun-Huong Lee. He confirmed that Hasbro has done the scans so he can be reproduced in plastic form. He questioned why he was not yet available and said in a very good humoured way that Hasbro 'just didn't like Canadians'. Carson Teva was included on my top ten list. Watching this week's episode of Ask Bossk, I slapped my own face, as I forgot to include Hut Slayer Leia. Doh!

Greetings Bossk, and thank you for featuring my question! My QFNW isn't really a question but more of a rant. With the Osha figure that you recently reviewed, I can't help but notice she comes with a lot of accessories for a standard TVC release. That is by no means a complaint but I find it odd what Hasbro considers a "deluxe" figure versus a standard release. The Jango Fett figure (which I love) is considered "deluxe" despite the lack of actual extras it comes with. By the same token, the Artillery Stormtrooper comes with a boatload of accessories for a standard TVC figure. And then, we'll get a Morgan Esbeth who literally comes with NOTHING and yet is priced the same as all the other figures. These kinds of decisions don't make a lot of sense to me, as a collector and it annoys me just a bit. What are your thoughts?
Another great episode Bossk! Question for next week: do you think Hasbro will include any prequel and sequel Trilogy characters in Return to Tatooine? Hasbro could make up the difference in TVC for the missed Episode 1 anniversary, and could even give us a Rise of Skywalker Rey with some updated tooling and the yellow lightsaber from the end of the film.
I've noticed paint apps/weathering being reduced as well. Some sand colored weathering would have gone a long way to making the upcoming farmboy Luke's boots not look so stark white compared to the tan pants. A worrisome trend indeed.

You and your friends have discussed this and it would be massive and expensive! Throne room scene , or the meeting room, a prison room maybe a hanger bay but something like that could be a year or to theme where a lot would be covered would be fantastic!
The Death Watch Mando i had grab a few of, the card back is one of the best ever and his articulation and general look hes perfect to have a handful of for that flashback or a background scene

I love that Force Link line Wampa's sculpt, but its removeable arm articulation is frustrating. It only swivels at that shoulder. If Hasbro could rework that one shoulder to include a ball joint like the opposite shoulder they could include a fully articulated arm and a second "severed" arm. Then it'd be worthy of being sold in a TVC classic Kenner style box.

I watched the interview you did with that guy Steve from Hasbro a few weeks back, and it was encouraging to hear him talking about trying to keep releases on a theme, of which the Return to Tatooine was the first. My QFNW is: what theme should be next? I don't think a return to Endor would make sense after all the stuff we got for the ROTJ 40th last year, but a return to Hoth would have lots of options, or a return to Naboo. Maybe they could do a return to the Republic and focus on prequel characters. What if they did a fan vote for an upcoming theme? Your thoughts?

QFNW: you’ve said before that you don’t think Yoda’s hut would be a good haslab because lack of figures. I think it could be the perfect size. It would have tons of play features including a brand new x wing sculpt, cave of evil, his hut of course, and other areas. And in terms of lack of figures there is R2, Luke in pilot gear, Luke in training gear, Yoda, Darth Vader cave of evil, and force ghost obi wan. What are your thoughts? It could even open up the possibility of future creature packs in the line

They're not going back to Endor any time soon, we've just had a boatload of ROTJ stuff, granted not many ewoks or rebel troop3rs or the one in the jumpsuit would have all been nice, but we had the shield generator doors, scout trooper, speeder bike, AT-ST, Leia, Han, Luke and some ewoks
The main difference between Sol and PT Jedi is the piping around the edges of his tabards. He and Yord have the piping, but some other Jedi from The Acolyte do not, and Sol doesn’t have it in the flashbacks. Some may see it as a big detail, and some may see it as a small thing.
@@BossksBountyI wouldn’t want them to use it for a main character like Anakin or Obi-Wan, but I don’t think I’d mind it on a secondary character. However, they also have a good generic Jedi tunic from the Showdown Obi-Wan, so I’d prefer they use that one for things like Cin Drallig or Kelleran Beq.

Hi BB, QFNW. Now that we have a creature release in The Blurrg in TVC do you think it wont be long before we see a new Bantha added to the line. I would like to see it with The Book of Boba Fett packaging with either a Tusken or Boba himself. Hello Bossk, question for next week, if we are getting another four pack of clones for 2025, which would you like to see, Galactic Marine, 327th, Shock troopers, or the Kashyyyk troopers? I personally would wanna see a 4 pack of shock troopers or marines but all would be appreciated.
QFNW: A lot of collectors, myself included, miss the days when we had a medium vehicle assortment that was always on shelves, ranging in price from $20 to $30. Unfortunately those days are long gone. And the current vehicle situation tends towards larger vehicles at a significantly higher price - exceptions being something like the Skiff or even the Imperial Combat Assault Tank. But if Hasbro were to return an ongoing TVC medium sized vehicle assortment to retail, what do you think the MSRP would be? Do you think it could be sustainable? And what vehicles would you want to see if Hasbro could return this kind of vehicle to retail on a regular basis?
QFNW: Excluding humans, what would you like to see more of? Droids, Aliens or Larger creatures? I feel we are getting too many humans and not enough aliens and creatures which are necessary for a proper SW collection. The list is endless, Hoth creatures, Tatooine creatures, Geonosis beasts, etc.

Lucas mad a deal with Mel brooks that Mel can make spaceballs as long as there was no action figures/merchandise made for the film. If I’m recalling the story correctly. Now that he sold Star Wars to Disney could the deal be over? And with Spaceballs 2 coming are we going to see official “Merchandising Merchanding!!” Because I’d love to have figures of one of my favorite comedy spoofs. QFNW: I wanna start by saying i am a MOC collector myself but still wanna ask. Do you think us MOC collectors are taking budget away from creating new figures or new tooling. We are always looking for that perfect card and bubble and if we dont get it most of us send it back for a replacement. Which is costing hasbro money for accepting the return and they shipping out the new one. They also lose money by not being able to resell that product again because it is damaged. I imagine this happening alot and also with the bigger budget items like playsets and vehicles which will cost them even more.

QFNW, I was an avid collector from 1995-2010 but left the hobby at uni. Last month I started collecting again and have picked up a lot of TVC 2. The main thing that brought me back was seeing the deluxe Cantina Haslab but I was 3 weeks too late to back it! Now i've seen it i can't imagine putting the cardboard one up. What is my best way of picking this up on the secondary market (ebay/ convention/forums)? I accept i'll have to pay a mark up now but hoping I can pay
Personally I don’t think the next theme will be Hoth. Tatooine works because it’s a location that features across multiple films and series. That also means I believe RTT theme is also not going to be exclusive to Ep4!

Regarding painting: i think it's a problem. Cheaper in production - price stays the same. Most recently: the uncolored code-cylinders on the x-Wing-pilot 4-pack......
Awesome vid as always, Tim! QFNW - I'm really looking forward to my upcoming E-Wing, but find myself already disappointed it doesn't come with a stand. My N-1 just looks so great on my desk, and I'd love to be able to rotate my desk centerpiece with different Star Wars ships. Has there been any talk of making the N-1 style stands standard with ships at this price point? If not, can we start some? And do you know of anyone that's had luck dremmeling or drilling out holes in other ships - for example the X-Wing - to successfully work with the N-1 stand?
The crafting and toy customizing videos I’ve seen regarding drilling into plastic use a “Step Bit”. They often start with a teeny thin regular bit for a Pilot Hole and then go in with the Step Bit. This also seems to be a preferred method when drilling clear acrylic or plexiglass. Whatever the mechanics/physics are (which I can’t speak to 😂) the step bit doesn’t “grab” the plastic as severely as a regular bit, and therefore is less likely to crack it. You’ll want a step bit that has a step the same size as the hole in the N1, or the ball it sits on. Digital Calipers would be helpful. Of course, do some deep research yourself before trying anything! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

And are diving into Ali express figures for purchase of clones mainly, given that Ali is printing more variants/colors, do you think this is why they (hasbro) won't release clone troop building possibilities? I don't mind it if it's reused for background jedi from the Arena etc. but not for mains like Ani and Obi or even Mace, too distinct and noticeable if his outfit looks exactly like Seasee or Obi-Wan. Maybe even utilize for Kit Fisto since it's a darker brown and unnoticeable. Besides all that's requires is a new skirt piece/lower robes to make it look different from High Republic Jedi, a very small cost spread out over several releases.

i want the stranger from the acolyte in retro and or vintage collection , will they have his helmet come off like boush action figure from 1983? and if it does come off, i would want the mask to be on the figure in the bubble , not hovering above the figure in a small bubble, that is what i hated about the boush figure board, i want the figure to already have the helmet on
What’s the deal with hasbro celebrating ROTJ and going half way with it. They gave us Jabba the Hutt but no Gamorrean guards, band members, creatures etc. Heck they never gave us B’omarr monk and they were recently featured on the Disney show. It’s so upsetting for newer collectors.
Thanks for the comment. LEGO isn’t Hasbro and I said it’s not a Disney issue. Repeating what I said in the video, a Hasbro (not LEGO or Disney Lucasfilm) suggested they wouldn’t make an Oola for whatever reasons. So regardless of whether there is an Oola type character in Disney Star Wars or that LEGO have made one doesn’t automatically mean Hasbro will make a Slave Leia. But who knows maybe they will again one day. Maybe all it takes is change in who’s in charge at Hasbro.
I'd rather they not use the Acolyte figures 1:1 its worse than andors boots imo. I think a little retooling to make Jedi - so many jedi.. is worth the cost we shouldn't try to give them excuses to be cheaper just give them ideas of what else they can do if they make a mold. I'd love a Shadow guard (Black royal guard) i have the older versions but its an easy "repaint" but we've seen with stormtroopers and clones.. they seem hesitant to do a lot of recolours/repaints.. we got the heavy and stormtrooper commander.. they cost more (for some dumb reason) and they didn't sell! they are still on discount at a local store here.. the commander at least, d'oh i should've waited. But the Heavies at least.. at $20 a piece (under retail) i got a stormtrooper plus a minigun for my clones! Great release it was.. but it didn't sell much at full price. Would love Hasbro to finish up the mold on the stormtrooper by giving them the best legs then go nuts. Like wise the clone troopers are now getting KO'd into the ground Hardcase from the 501st is fantastic and sooner or later he'll get all the rest from unbara.. and we'll only need Krell. Also my post shop really needs a closer location to me, i'll have to bus somewhere i'm still building up the courage for the trip as i have to spend money on postage.. my most hated thing in the world.. so let me know if somebody sources them for you! soon you wont be able to wait if they do Kix/Tup/Dogma and Jesse phase 2 in the next batch which i suspect!
Low hanging fruit . More like rotten fruit. We are sick to death of them doing boring characters the Mando Judge and the HK droid are prime examples. If they started making figures that the fans actually want like Prequal Jedi's then they wouldn't be have all these peg warmers. And this lead to the rumours that Hasbro are wanting to sell off the last five years of there contract due to Disney telling them what figures to make resulting in massive sale drops. If they just started making the figure the fans want sales would go through the roof. This years releases have been rubbish to say the least. I just hope next year is better.
Ok but it doesnt bode well for the future, Cobb Vanth is another that has zero paint apps apart fro on his armour. He from the desert. The new Luke Skywalker we are getting looks like he just came out of the dry cleaners. These issues need to be addressed.
@@BossksBounty I could see why for Cobb and Luke since they’re from desert planets, but for droids, I’m not bothered as much about their weathering and prefer a clean look unless they were heavily weathered in the show. But that’s just me and feel free to disagree.

These particular droids were battling Ahsoka in a pretty sandy/dusty environment - it’s not so much the weathering, it’s the battle damage, they even sculpted them in. As for Cobb Vanth, they didn’t paint the chest computer read out thing like they have done on all other Fetts. I just want value for money is all.

I really love that scene with a young Anakin standing in the middle of the council with Coruscant in the background.The Jedi Council is a crucial part of the Star Wars timeline, with a total of 46 members having appeared in canon so far. Great videos always.
I love my full Jedi Council playset from 2004, it was 6 floor plates sold individually with 2 seats and 3 figures, in box sets. The center of the floor was in 2 plates inserted in 2 of the 6 sets. One of the sets came with young Anakin. An amazing playset that I am afraid Hasbro would not consider making nowadays. The full set in sealed boxes commands a hefty price on the secondary market currently however, so the demand is there I believe.

With the return to tatooine, the mos eisley cantina haslab and the streets of mos eisley playset do you think we will get a ronto with jawa in a 3.75 and a sandtrooper with dewback? QFNW: you’ve said before that you don’t think Yoda’s hut would be a good haslab because lack of figures. I think it could be the perfect size. It would have tons of play features including a brand new x wing sculpt, cave of evil, his hut of course, and other areas. And in terms of lack of figures there is R2, Luke in pilot gear, Luke in training gear, Yoda, Darth Vader cave of evil, and force ghost obi wan. What are your thoughts? It could even open up the possibility of future creature packs in the line

Yeah, vehicles are not really viable. Star Wars is not the Juggernaut it was 15 years ago.

Yep. Brown variant with Luke’s lightsaber as a pack-in on a new card with his re-released Tauntaun. Blue coat version as the regular release.

They're not going back to Endor any time soon, we've just had a boatload of ROTJ stuff, granted not many ewoks or rebel troop3rs or the one in the jumpsuit would have all been nice, but we had the shield generator doors, scout trooper, speeder bike, AT-ST, Leia, Han, Luke and some ewoks

The main difference between Sol and PT Jedi is the piping around the edges of his tabards. He and Yord have the piping, but some other Jedi from The Acolyte do not, and Sol doesn’t have it in the flashbacks. Some may see it as a big detail, and some may see it as a small thing.
How do you see it, John? Big deal or not?
@@BossksBountyI wouldn’t want them to use it for a main character like Anakin or Obi-Wan, but I don’t think I’d mind it on a secondary character. However, they also have a good generic Jedi tunic from the Showdown Obi-Wan, so I’d prefer they use that one for things like Cin Drallig or Kelleran Beq.

Hi BB, QFNW. Now that we have a creature release in The Blurrg in TVC do you think it wont be long before we see a new Bantha added to the line. I would like to see it with The Book of Boba Fett packaging with either a Tusken or Boba himself. The Blurrg set is great with a lot of collectors buying 2 for an opener and a carded figure with Kuiil on the other Blurrg. Thanks, Karl.
Hello Bossk, question for next week, if we are getting another four pack of clones for 2025, which would you like to see, Galactic Marine, 327th, Shock troopers, or the Kashyyyk troopers? I personally would wanna see a 4 pack of shock troopers or marines but all would be appreciated.
QFNW: A lot of collectors, myself included, miss the days when we had a medium vehicle assortment that was always on shelves, ranging in price from $20 to $30. Unfortunately those days are long gone. And the current vehicle situation tends towards larger vehicles at a significantly higher price - exceptions being something like the Skiff or even the Imperial Combat Assault Tank. But if Hasbro were to return an ongoing TVC medium sized vehicle assortment to retail, what do you think the MSRP would be? Do you think it could be sustainable? And what vehicles would you want to see if Hasbro could return this kind of vehicle to retail on a regular basis?
QFNW: Excluding humans, what would you like to see more of? Droids, Aliens or Larger creatures? I feel we are getting too many humans and not enough aliens and creatures which are necessary for a proper SW collection. The list is endless, Hoth creatures, Tatooine creatures, Geonosis beasts, etc.

I hope we see the pilot for the E-Wing Fighter sooner rather than later! Hey bossk, hope all is well. QFNW not sure if this was asked when it was announced or not but wanted your opinion. Lucas mad a deal with Mel brooks that Mel can make spaceballs as long as there was no action figures/merchandise made for the film. If I’m recalling the story correctly.
Now that he sold Star Wars to Disney could the deal be over? And with Spaceballs 2 coming are we going to see official “Merchandising Merchanding!!” Because I’d love to have figures of one of my favorite comedy spoofs. Doesn’t matter the scale I’d buy the line.

Based on this, it got me thinking, how many figures do you think are made of each vc number. Do you think these numbers vary much based on the popularity of the figure or case when multiple of the same are packed in. Thanks for all you do. QFNW: I wanna start by saying i am a MOC collector myself but still wanna ask. Do you think us MOC collectors are taking budget away from creating new figures or new tooling. We are always looking for that perfect card and bubble and if we dont get it most of us send it back for a replacement. Which is costing hasbro money for accepting the return and they shipping out the new one. They also lose money by not being able to resell that product again because it is damaged. I imagine this happening alot and also with the bigger budget items like playsets and vehicles which will cost them even more.

QFNW, I was an avid collector from 1995-2010 but left the hobby at uni. Last month I started collecting again and have picked up a lot of TVC 2. The main thing that brought me back was seeing the deluxe Cantina Haslab but I was 3 weeks too late to back it! Now i've seen it i can't imagine putting the cardboard one up. What is my best way of picking this up on the secondary market (ebay/ convention/forums)? I accept i'll have to pay a mark up now but hoping I can pay

Personally I don’t think the next theme will be Hoth. Tatooine works because it’s a location that features across multiple films and series. That also means I believe RTT theme is also not going to be exclusive to Ep4!

Regarding painting: i think it's a problem. Cheaper in production - price stays the same. Most recently: the uncolored code-cylinders on the x-Wing-pilot 4-pack......

Awesome vid as always, Tim! QFNW - I'm really looking forward to my upcoming E-Wing, but find myself already disappointed it doesn't come with a stand. My N-1 just looks so great on my desk, and I'd love to be able to rotate my desk centerpiece with different Star Wars ships. Has there been any talk of making the N-1 style stands standard with ships at this price point? If not, can we start some? And do you know of anyone that's had luck dremmeling or drilling out holes in other ships - for example the X-Wing - to successfully work with the N-1 stand?
The crafting and toy customizing videos I’ve seen regarding drilling into plastic use a “Step Bit”. They often start with a teeny thin regular bit for a Pilot Hole and then go in with the Step Bit. This also seems to be a preferred method when drilling clear acrylic or plexiglass.
Whatever the mechanics/physics are (which I can’t speak to 😂) the step bit doesn’t “grab” the plastic as severely as a regular bit, and therefore is less likely to crack it. You’ll want a step bit that has a step the same size as the hole in the N1, or the ball it sits on. Digital Calipers would be helpful. Of course, do some deep research yourself before trying anything!

Thanks Stuart, I think I covered this a week or so ago. She was rumoured to be in a wave with Dengar last year but it must have got cancelled. No news of she will be reissued this or next year.

There's 3 rumoured figures from Rebels next year, but after so many lackluster releases this year they're probably just head swaps (Kanan/Ezra on Storm/Scout trooper body) or kitbashes (inacurate Kallas/Pryce). And are diving into Ali express figures for purchase of clones mainly, given that Ali is printing more variants/colors, do you think this is why they (hasbro) won't release clone troop building possibilities? That was a legitimate gripe.
I don't mind it if it's reused for background jedi from the Arena etc. but not for mains like Ani and Obi or even Mace, too distinct and noticeable if his outfit looks exactly like Seasee or Obi-Wan. Maybe even utilize for Kit Fisto since it's a darker brown and unnoticeable. Besides all that's requires is a new skirt piece/lower robes to make it look different from High Republic Jedi, a very small cost spread out over several releases.
I heard that HASBRO doesnt want the STAR WARS license anymore, but I dont know if thats true or just somebody said it without knowing.

What’s the deal with hasbro celebrating ROTJ and going half way with it. They gave us Jabba the Hutt but no Gamorrean guards, band members, creatures etc. Heck they never gave us B’omarr monk and they were recently featured on the Disney show. It’s so upsetting for newer collectors.
Lego just released Slave Leia with the Barge and there was an “Oola” character in BOBF so what are you talking about?
Thanks for the comment. LEGO isn’t Hasbro and I said it’s not a Disney issue. Repeating what I said in the video, a Hasbro (not LEGO or Disney Lucasfilm) suggested they wouldn’t make an Oola for whatever reasons. So regardless of whether there is an Oola type character in Disney Star Wars or that LEGO have made one doesn’t automatically mean Hasbro will make a Slave Leia. But who knows maybe they will again one day. Maybe all it takes is change in who’s in charge at Hasbro.

I think a little retooling to make Jedi - so many jedi.. is worth the cost we shouldn't try to give them excuses to be cheaper just give them ideas of what else they can do if they make a mold.
I'd love a Shadow guard (Black royal guard) i have the older versions but its an easy "repaint" but we've seen with stormtroopers and clones.. they seem hesitant to do a lot of recolours/repaints.. we got the heavy and stormtrooper commander.. they cost more (for some dumb reason) and they didn't sell! they are still on discount at a local store here.. the commander at least, d'oh i should've waited.
But the Heavies at least.. at $20 a piece (under retail) i got a stormtrooper plus a minigun for my clones!
Great release it was.. but it didn't sell much at full price.
Would love Hasbro to finish up the mold on the stormtrooper by giving them the best legs then go nuts.
Like wise the clone troopers are now getting KO'd into the ground Hardcase from the 501st is fantastic and sooner or later he'll get all the rest from unbara.. and we'll only need Krell.
Also my post shop really needs a closer location to me, i'll have to bus somewhere i'm still building up the courage for the trip as i have to spend money on postage.. my most hated thing in the world.. so let me know if somebody sources them for you! soon you wont be able to wait if they do Kix/Tup/Dogma and Jesse phase 2 in the next batch which i suspect!
Low hanging fruit . More like rotten fruit. We are sick to death of them doing boring characters the Mando Judge and the HK droid are prime examples. If they started making figures that the fans actually want like Prequal Jedi's then they wouldn't be have all these peg warmers. And this lead to the rumours that Hasbro are wanting to sell off the last five years of there contract due to Disney telling them what figures to make resulting in massive sale drops. If they just started making the figure the fans want sales would go through the roof. This years releases have been rubbish to say the least. I just hope next year is better.
I’m personally not as bothered about the HK-87’s lack of weathering and think it looks fine as is. They could always repaint and rerelease it later.
Ok but it doesnt bode well for the future, Cobb Vanth is another that has zero paint apps apart fro on his armour. He from the desert. The new Luke Skywalker we are getting looks like he just came out of the dry cleaners. These issues need to be addressed.
@@BossksBounty I could see why for Cobb and Luke since they’re from desert planets, but for droids, I’m not bothered as much about their weathering and prefer a clean look unless they were heavily weathered in the show. But that’s just me and feel free to disagree.

These particular droids were battling Ahsoka in a pretty sandy/dusty environment - it’s not so much the weathering, it’s the battle damage, they even sculpted them in. As for Cobb Vanth, they didn’t paint the chest computer read out thing like they have done on all other Fetts. I just want value for money is all.

Hey Bossk, QFNW, What do you think about getting a Jedi Council room playset? I really love that scene with a young Anakin standing in the middle of the council with Coruscant in the background.The Jedi Council is a crucial part of the Star Wars timeline, with a total of 46 members having appeared in canon so far. Great videos always.
I love my full Jedi Council playset from 2004, it was 6 floor plates sold individually with 2 seats and 3 figures, in box sets. The center of the floor was in 2 plates inserted in 2 of the 6 sets. One of the sets came with young Anakin. An amazing playset that I am afraid Hasbro would not consider making nowadays. The full set in sealed boxes commands a hefty price on the secondary market currently however, so the demand is there I believe.
