Bought one this week and arrived yesterday! Works perfectly! And with an rf amplifier and an antenna connected to it I can get around 10m of perfect image on my portable handheld tv's... Should have found this wayyyyy earlier! Nice to see my old tv's working again 😆 next on its way is an hdmi to AV converter so I can broadcast some ps4 or something 🤣

You shouldn't need an amplifier. Connect the antenna directly to the RF output of the modulator and you should get a signal that covers the entire house, not just ten meters.

@@summersky77 I've tried with a few different antennas - even made a half-wave dipole out of some old coax cable cut to the right UHF frequency for the channel I was on - and really - it still won't cover a single room. It's good enough to be a few feet from the TV running a UHF loop antenna but the over-air ranges being claimed on some of the Ebay listings for them are...optimistic...to say the least. Perhaps I have a noisier background RF environment than most which is mitigating the range but...I've tried on different frequencies and the result is much the same. You cannot beat the price for what you get however.
@@chancewolf3739 you're using coax, which by nature is designed not to radiate. Use bare wire, cut to freq. wavelength and you'll be astonished at the difference. With regards to rf environment, you could be right..and if you're using a modern type tv, yeah you won't get far. But with an older ntsc portable you should be able to walk around the house with a decent pickup. At least I am. But yeah, coax is the last thing you should be using. :)
Fun fact: if you connect a matched UHF antenna to the RF out, you should have a signal that covers the entire house. It has to be a proper UHF antenna though, not just any old antenna. Range may vary.
I did it and almost got myself into jail. It produced signal that can be caught like 3-4 miles away. I was suprised

@@summersky77 i have rf modulator that costs almost $2000 and i had 10ft high antenna so yea. After that i got my licence for broadcasting signal and now it fine.

Neat little toy. One could even use it for mobile applications.
You can get two channels from this box.
The signal from the AV ports is modulated to the channel that the box says and if you plug in a signal into the RF input while the AV is connected it will put both on the same cable going out to the tv on different channels.

That modulator only use EUROPEAN UHF CHANNELS 21 - 69, but also mixed with both some US CATV and Japanese/US UHF TV channels. Channel 21 is UHF channel 13 from Japan and Channel 14 in the US. Channel 23 is US CATV 68 (2 MHz lower than UHF 17).
UHF CHANNEL 57: JAPAN UHF CHANNEL 61 and US UHF CHANNEL 62.
For use with Japanese CRT TV (set to AIR or TV mode ; but turn off CATV mode).
Sound carrier must set to 4.5 Mhz
You should use channel 6. The audio can be heard on 87.7 on an fm radio.
That’s true, and is a really cool idea. But this is a UHF modulator. It only works with channels 14 and above. I’d have to find a dedicated modulator for channel 6 to try that.

I have a DIGIQUEST RF STEREO MODULATOR that outputs RF frequency between 47 - 862 MHz. What I like about this modulator is that you can connect it both to TV and FM radio with antenna input. In order to connect to FM radio you set the modulator on channel 4 the frequency is 82.25 MHz, the sound is on 87.75 MHz so you can listen the sound on your FM radio. It is ideal if you have a satellite receiver and you want to listen to satellite radio but you don't want to use your TV beacuse of screen burning. Since the default sound system is on B/G the frequency is 87.75 MHz, but if you change to D/K is on 88.75 MHz.
My DIGIQUEST Modulator can be used in any country. Suports PAL, NTSC and SECAM video systems as for audio it has 4 systems: B/G; D/K; I; M/N.
B/G and D/K (used in most parts of the world), I (UK, South Africa) and M/N (North, Central and South America, South Korea and Japan). For North America you set the modulator on M/N sound system, and you won't have problems.
China uses PAL-D/K, Taiwan and Philippines uses NTSC-M
At 1:04 it's weird that the sound is Mono since your Modulator has Stereo input. Normally a modulator with Stereo input should also deliver stereo sound on RF, maybe there is a hint in the instruction manual on how to switch from Mono to Stereo. It's important if you use it for music videos.
It’s an old VHS tape that I probably recorded in mono. But there could be a setting I haven’t checked yet. Part of the charm of analog TV is mono sound.

@@MrPillowStudios It only broadcasts in UHF. For VHF you can use a VHS and output to channel 3 or 4, or get an RF modulator that outputs to channel 3 o 4.

I think this modulator is just good for home with one channel only.

Im using the exact same units on sat receivers.set to pal I 6.0mhz and the channel number corresponds to the tv ch frequency.they work well.also use the ir.

Doesn’t your VCR have a built-in RF modulator, therefore making this unit redundant? Or am I misunderstanding its use?
It can be used for sending any RCA video source to a UHF TV channel.
UHF can be used on both Japanese and US UHF or Cable TV frequencies.
Japanese TV set (Victor, Sony, Toshiba, Aiwa, Samsung) that only have Japanese TV frequency (VHF 1 - 12, UHF 13 - 62) can’t tune down to 90 MHz. UHF 21 from Modulator works on JAPAN UHF 13 (US UHF 14).
US VCR’s will not work with modulator on Japanese CRT TV (Victor, Sony, Toshiba, etc..) also use UHF RF MODULATOR if channel 21 or 14, set Japanese UHF TV on channel 13.
I have a very old B&W TV that has a built in antenna but no connectors for an external antenna or cable. Can this transmit over the air? If so any idea how to hook up a transmit antenna to this RF modulator?

How would I go about finding others home made channels that they are “broadcasting” with my analog tv
The signal would have to be strong enough and close enough for you to receive- but these signals are closed circuit, not wireless RF signals - receivable through coaxial cable to connected TV’s in your home only.
If I used multiple of these that all go into a combiner could I make a mimic tv station with multiple channels?
To set up a system for your home, that should work.

You could just use a piece of coaxial cable, RG6 is best. Or does the antenna have twin lead cable with fork connectors?

The range is probably too short for that.
HDMI TO RCA doesn’t stretch aspect ratio picture. HDMI TO VGA and VGA TO VIDEO could do that and also HDMI TO RF (US CHANNEL 3 , US CATV 58 and EU UHF 31)

Also banned to transmit on UHF 37 except for Dominican Republic, Philippines and channel 36 in Japan.

I bought this off Amazon and I can’t hear any audio I just hear static but when I disconnect the yellow cable i hear nothing
Make sure the TV is tuned to the correct channel you are modulating to. Double check the PAL/NTSC setting.

Ensure the connections are correct (coaxial to RF out). Make sure the modulator is set to the correct format (NTSC or PAL). Rescan the TV. Try using a different channel to modulate to. Rescan the TV afterwards.

Which frequency is channel 3 on an ntsc crt televison?
63 MHz I believe.
The table in the manual for this device shows that it does not go as low as 63mhz. Could this be correct?

@@corganpicturesJapnese 100V TVs only tuned down to 90 MHz (91.25 MHz) on Japanese VHF channel 1 (American Cable TV 95) and UHF channels 13 to 62 (same as US UHF 14 to 63). Japanese Cable TV frequencies only tuned up to 457 MHz, but doesn’t include UHF TV frequencies (unlike US CATV frequencies)
