Soooo, my analysis:- Watched at 1/4 speed and truck begins to move off just before green. An automatic truck (most are now, a semi automatic type with actual gears changed by computer, known as techtronic in DAFs), generally has a lag from when you press the accelerator and it actually engages, (damned frustrating on busy roundabouts). The change of angle clearly indicates an articulated motive unit & semi trailer combination, and the slow acceleration suggests loaded. I would guess the driver checked their mirrors and moved off, and the amazingly skilled sports driver took that movement as their cue to pull out & pass the truck drag racing style. I doubt Airhead Sennacot realised the cab would pull so wide

They use them for construction zones in Idaho and Wyoming. On my commute to work, they were replacing a bridge and had one lane for traffic in both directions. They used a much larger version of this, mounted on a trailer, at each end of the construction. On Beartooth Pass, Northeast of Yellowstone Park, they are rebuilding the highway and installing a bridge on a section that is cut into a cliff. They have these signals and a pilot car to control traffic when work is being done. In the off hours they just have the lights.

So first of all, the truck was moving slower than a turtle with the gout; I would have passed him too. Second, the truck can plainly see that all traffic is merging into the left turn (the lane the truck was ALREADY in), but the truck decides to pull into the right lane. Either the truck driver is an idiot, or he purposely moved the truck into the right lane to prevent the BMW from passing. If you're going to crawl, you should have no issue with someone passing you safely; which would have been the case had the truck not pulled a dickhead move.

If you pause it at 0:32 you can clearly read his number plate. In the U.K could the police act on this footage ?
Soooo, my analysis:-
Watched at 1/4 speed and truck begins to move off just before green.
I doubt Airhead Sennacot realised the cab would pull so wide
ok Paul ... nice try to explain what possibly happend there ... but did not change anything on the fact that this driver was an sshole and a Danger to all other people in traffic that day
@@KalatSaar, so, which driver do you thinks was the dangerous a-hole??
@@paulcollyer801 the so called "amazingly skilled sports driver" if he wants to drive like a sports driver .. he can go to a race track and crash his car there ... on a public road there is no place to do that ... i know that in the most countrys, there is a space in front and after a constructing area where it is forbidden to overtook other cars .. and this is definetly direct at a traffic light .. so for a normal thinking driver it is clear that this action is definetly not leagal .. and for shure not save ...

@@KalatSaarThe clue was his reference to "Airhead Sennacot", a play on the name of Ayrton Senna and a clear insult to the BMW driver. Humor is hard on the internet.
Why all the hate for the BMW driver. This is a video of absolutely nothing wrong happened.
I never saw those remote portable traffic signals before. I wonder why we don't have them in the U.S.
Hello joe do you think that they are a good thing here in the uk they are everywhere if you think they are a good thing maybe you should go to your local authorities and enquire about them mind you I think alot of peaple are colour blind and just go threw them well safe motoring joe🚘
Hey, may I feature this video?

Yeah because overtaking a truck going 2 miles an hour is soooo dangerous🙄🙄
Not necessarily dangerous, but inconsiderate, selfish, stupid in this context and against the law.
@@allenra530 against the law, possibly but certainly couldn't be taken as inconsiderate or selfish as he/she is not affecting anyone by their actions. That's one thing I don't miss about the UK - stupid contraflows that last for months with zero work being done
And the bellend of the year award goes to....drum roll....
Yep,....there several of them in every state. They'll keep doing stuff like that and one day it'll be all over 🪦
Did they fire the men with stop signs that direct construction traffic?
In the UK we use temporary traffic lights because they're reliable and have to work 24/7 i.e. also at night. These roadworks lasted weeks. Only the backward system risking someone's life by standing in the road is used in places like the US.
The BMW driver ran over them last week to they replaced them with traffic lights.
@@nevillemason6791 Temporary traffic signals are used in the USA too. They don't look like cheap toys like the ones the UK uses, either.
Ah yes, BMW pilots are a wonder! The Altamont pass eastbound presents exceptional after hours opportunities for performance testing of "das Maschine" . . . I was heading uphill at a pretty good clip one evening in very light traffic when the "ace" flew by at well over 100mph . . . after cresting the hill he was nowhere to be seen . . . but wait, is that a cloud of dust up there in the median? Sure enough, the pilot had landed (backwards) and already hangared his Bavarian Motor Wrecke there in the shrubbery . . . and I had doubted his competence so recently!

1. How they miss the roadworks signs posted for miles back along the carriageway?
2. Why aren't they curious as to why there is a line of stationary vehicles in front of them??
We lump BMW drivers, Audi drivers etc into the same bracket. I think a lot of the time the problem is that it's a young kid, in a big powerful car. Bought on finance. There should be laws preventing inexperienced drivers from having these powerful cars, but capitalism as it is, actually encourages it.

Happens to me sometimes too. If they've missed all the roadwork and temporary traffic light warnings then they're likely to pull stunts like this without even realising it.
I had someone try to overtake me while i was sat waiting to get around a car that was blocking my path, i had my right indicator on and brake lights showing yet they attempted an overtake only to be faced with the cars i was waiting for right in front of them.
the truck going right instead of straight is more concerning to me
Truck had to swing out to miss the traffic light
So first of all, the truck was moving slower than a turtle with the gout; I would have passed him too.
Second, the truck can plainly see that all traffic is merging into the left turn (the lane the truck was ALREADY in), but the truck decides to pull into the right lane. Either the truck driver is an idiot, or he purposely moved the truck into the right lane to prevent the BMW from passing.
If you're going to crawl, you should have no issue with someone passing you safely; which would have been the case had the truck not pulled a dickhead move.
I don’t see the big deal, who wouldn’t want to get in front of a slow moving truck if it’s clear.
I was hoping to see it wrecked beyond the roadwork.
He Wouldn't Do that in Tennessee Because the Highway patrol Would be after him Faster than his head could spin...Highway Patrol Guards Construction Zones on Both ends...Guy would probably End up in Jail.
Wow that was close. Riding his luck
Plus the fucker probably flew through the narrow construction zone. Didn't see anyone around, though, lucky for everyone. Not a good time for a deer to run out of those woods either. Top of the turd-eating foodchain.
That's why you always need to be checking them mirrors. Worse still, not sure it's clean-cut the BMW would be at fault here either.
Those roadworks at the Shirley turn caused mayhem for weeks. There were many similar incidents where cars with good acceleration beat slow vehicles off the lights. I got seen off many times and to be honest I can't say I blame them.
Hope he curbed his aluminum wheels. Looks like the bus/truck saw him coming around and was attempting to thwart a pass.
Cuz it’s every idiots dream to go behind a diesel truck
