Absolutely, he is worlds apart from his past & Slayer was a lame duck covers band without him.
He's really kicking ass with Suicidal Tendencies. I don't believe Slayer had the talent to keep up with him. They were holding him back. Not to mention they screwed him over royally
Wise guy, great musician. Less is more, be real keep the human feel; great perspective, there is a reason why he’s one of the greatest drummers of all times.

Being Dave Lombardo, it's "easy" to say a drummer should sound natural. I saw that guy live and he RULES ALL... He is 100% asset to any band. Great sound, great timing... Fuck, the guy's my hero.
Dave was a huge part of Slayer's intensity. Those guys really lucked out to get a drummer with his skill so early on, because if they had to make due with a lesser drummer, I guarantee they wouldn't have had the impact they did with Dave. It's a shame that the least talented dude in the band seems to be the one holding all the cards now.

Couldn't agree more , he's the founding member , the guy who came up with the name slayer and the design used on the first 5 albums and EPs that slayer released , if he hadn't asked Kerry if he wanted to jam the chances are there would never have been a band called slayer .

He’s melancholy . Shameful but nothing new.
He's been treated like shit by his former band mates on many occasions , he first quit slayer shortly after reign in blood was first released , slayer auditioned several well known thrash drummers to try and replace him for the reign in blood tour , nick menza auditioned , tony scaglionni did part of the reign in blood tour , the problem was he couldnt play the double bass solo but in angel of death , live they would do angel if death and when it got to the double bass part , tony would do the intro roll at the begining of epidemic and they would then go into that song , Rick Rubin was the man who said to slayer , you need to work something out because he's the only drummer who can do what he does , so the (dodgy slayer management got him back ) ..he left again during the recording of South of heaven ( but that was only for a month ) .
Great to have Dave in Suicidal but I think he is limited, he is too much of a drummer.
David Rod agreed dave is over the top for ST. I'm a huge fan of ST& slayer but dave is so talented I just hope he can bring a new sound and speed to ST like never before. Happy dave is away from tom and Keri. They are selfish pigs
