Thank you again, Christian! As always you're a life saver! Have re-done the lab 3 times and had some questions, when you simply informed that there was no possibility to set the "pass min length" and "login block-for" commands for the SW in the PT :) At the same time I still have some questions regarding the vty lines: 1. As per the 1st reflection question you said that: the originally set vty password was disabled once the "login local" command was issued, is this correct? So after configuring username/secret all previously configured vty lines passwords shall be irrelevant? (even if the "sh run" command indicates the vty passwords) 2. I have attempted to configure the vty lines with a separate password (i.e. vty 0 14 - pass X, vty 15 - pass Y), but was unable to telnet remotely and login with pass Y. Thus, is there a possibility to use a specific password per specific vty line? 3. What is the difference of creating ssh on the vty lines and configuring simply the "login" command vs "login local"? Thank you again and wishing you all the best!!!
yes, thank you, packet tracer does not support min length passwords and login block commands. 1. Yes, login local command will replace login command, so the password in vty will be ignored and password with local username will be used. 2. if you configure 0-14 with password X , you need 15 telnet connections with password X, and finally the 16th connection will use password Y. 3. login command enable the telnet password configured in vty lines, and login local will use the username name and password previously configured Thank you
@@romeroc24 Thank you again for the prompt and extensive clarification, Christian! Now you've cleared all my previous doubts. ;) All the best and Happy upcoming Holidays!!! :)
Hello Christian, After 15:57 (crypto key.....) I went to other room. When I came back it wants password. Like this: Unauthorized Access is Prohibited! User Access Verification Password: I wrote all of password on the Lab, it didn't accept any of them. What is the password? Thank you in advance.
If it weren't for your videos I probably wouldn't have passed Networking
thank you for all your support
How can I identify the vty, like when it is line vty 0 15 and when it is line vty 0 4 etc.
From 0 to 15 you have 16 possible connections, from 0 to 4 only 5
On-Time 11:36 You got back to the Terminal and were able to do conf Term but for me, I Cant its showing as R1> instead of # what did I do wrong?
when you have R1>, use enable to go R1# and use conf term to go R1(config)#
