This is horrible. I remember being in a school shooting myself. Stuck in a bathroom with 2 others we locked the door and braced the door with the trash can and hid in the stalls just to make ourselves hidden just in case they got through the door. We called our family and told them we loved them and we might be shot and killed today. Condolences to all families that have suffered these kind of shootings.

A year ago or so the FBI had spoken to the kid and dad about threats! And yet believed to whatever was said. They dismissed them. Obviously these agents have no training and didn't care to stay on them. Now why would the dad buy his son such a type of gun. The father and agents assigned to investigate the kid and last year should be held accountable. My prayers to all affected by this tragedy.

There are no laws in place in GA that would have allowed the FBI to do anything. They could not legally taken away the dads guns because of the sons threats. So many in this country want their 2nd amendment rights with no restrictions then complain & blame law enforcement when things like this happen.

The issue isn’t security. How about parents stop buying guns for kids with mental health problems. How about you have to pay for insurance for your weapon in case it ends up being used in a mass shooting?!
      Why are AR15’s allowed !

Strict security measures should have been implemented years ago. I have written the whitehouse many times, why doesn't everyone else do the same? If there is security, then no matter what problem arises, it will be thwarted by well-trained staff. Our children deserve it. They should have at least as much security as the adults in the whitehouse if not MORE. They are our future.

As long as obtaining a weapon remains easy, such shootings will continue to occur. It astonishes me that every time an incident akin to "Columbine" happens, people clamor for action. They ought to recall this sentiment when it's time to vote. Politicians bear responsibility for the proliferation of guns and other weapons on the streets. Unfortunately, as long as the NRA maintains powerful allies, this issue will persist, and more shootings will happen.

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!
This past 4th of July in Chicago alone 109 people were shot and 19 died. This year in Chicago alone over 1,300 people have been shot and over 400 had died. Per Capita Chicago is not even at the top of the list. Sorry if I don’t take Democrats serious about gun control when they only crawl out from under a rock for school shootings. In fact, Democrats fight against simple solution like metal detectors and armed security and/or teachers.

Not entirely true. It’s also the parents who keep buying kids who aren’t even old enough to drink an AR15!!!
You shouldn’t have access to those if you can’t buy a cocktail. And those guns should have to be insured. And the parents should be held accountable

Yeah. Don't know why people keep making that argument. Firearms are, obviously, no thing to play with, and from this situation, it is clear that not everyone should reserve the right to even have one in their possession.
Had the Gray family been prevented from possessing firearms after their run-in with the FBI, this all could have been prevented.
