Why people associate it with "Champagne Taste" is because, if you listen to the lyrics, "Full of Cheer" is celebrating his girl leaving because "I'm going to save an arm and a leg this Christmas; I'm going to have some money come New Year". I.e. she is no longer spending all his money.
Also the melody/tune is very similar between the two songs ❕❗ Listen to Full of Cheer while singing champagne Taste (on a beer budget) and you will get what I'm saying❕❗

Well in Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, Tim was complaining that his wife’s spending was going to put him in prison. In this song, Tim’s happy his girlfriend dumped him because he now has more money to spend!! Yes, Tim wrote both songs. He’s a nut (well they all are nuts). I love his sense of humor. Get dumped and you’re sad for awhile but then you realize you have more money in your pocket! Hahaha. Good one boys! Chris was in Champagne and this one. 🥰🤣🤣
And even better, she left BEFORE he spent a boatload of money on Christmas gifts rather than right after - or worse, right after Valentine's Day cashing out on two holidays within two months.

We get a little carried away with enjoying the videos of Home Free. The amount of times we had to relisten off video 😂
Rob's dance moves are the Gopher Dance which is kind of his signature move. He's done it in several videos and concerts. this video starts of all sad because his lady has just just left him (switching the POV from Tim in Champagne Taste to Austin), then it brightens up because she won't be around to spend all his money anymore. Not connected to Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer other then they're both Christmastime songs.

Exactly! That's what I said in my comment. They missed the entire point to the song, so how are they supposed to enjoy it. I find they do this alot. It's funny because you always hear people saying, "I've never payed attention to the lyrics until Home Free sung it". And it's absolutely true. So, I don't get it. Lol!

I don't think you listened to the lyrics, at all. I know there's always alot going on, but you missed the whole point of the song, including the meaning behind the transition from sad to happy. It's about his girlfriend leaving him at Christmas time and he couldn't be happier. He's talking about having more money now (because she left) & finally being able to enjoy a "silent night". Some other lyrics are: "Joy to the world, my baby's gone", "My baby left me...full of cheer". Such a good play on words, by Tim. It's absolutely hilarious. I would listen to it again and pay attention to the lyrics this time. Lol! Love you guys ❤
Yeah we do apologise. We have mentioned that Home Free are hard to react too cause you get so caught up in all the funny stuff within the video that you lose focus on the lyrics itself 😂 We always get it on a 2nd listen but that's the risk of a first time reaction ☺️

I knew you'd both like this original by Tim Foust! Tim, Austin & Chance are each song writers so HF has lots of originals as well as covers. If you haven't seen the live video of "Sea Shanty Medley" or, in keeping with the season "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" (with Jeffrey East & the Oak Ridge Boys) or "Christmas in Dixie" (with Alabama) - they're both must-sees!

This video was so much fun to watch!! I’m not sure why you’re talking about sequence… The only one they have three songs that are involved in star fire Lily trilogy which Austen wrote! A very early video from home is Country fried pop! It’s a mashup of about 15 different pop songs… It shows their ability to learn and match up the songs together! Worth the watch!!For New Year’s eve be sure to listen to their version of Auld Lang Syne!! Nice reaction!
I guess you’ve never seen the movie Home Alone. The whole video was all of the guys portraying kids from the movie. Adam had his hair slicked back like Kevin. Chris and Rob were the bully brothers, and Tim was being, well Tim: goofy and funny as heck! Lol It’s such a good time and funny! Loved your reactions very much! As another commenter mentioned, “Cold Hard Cash (written by Austin) is another fun one! If you want another traditional one from Home Free, check out I’ll Be Home For Christmas, or their cover with Chris (after he left the group) What Child Is This. That one was arranged by Chris. I enjoy your reactions but on this occasion you both missed the point of the song. The slow sad part was Austin's girlfriend leaving him just before Christmas ... so sad! Of course, flip 5 days and they are having a party and Austin is happy that he hasn't had to buy her a present or spend money on her, so he will 'save an arm and leg this Christmas'! The reason it is paired with 'Champagne Taste' is money, in this case not spending money, whereas in the previous song, the wife couldn't stop spending!
I think you would have enjoyed the song even more if you had 'got the joke'.
Yeah we do struggle with Home Free first times listens cause we do get really distracted by the video and just love seeing the guys enjoying themselves. Always catch it on the 2nd listen lol
