Abingdon Virginia. I've been there several times and it's a quaint little "Mayberry" type town. Plus I love the Blu Ridge Mountains

I'm very familiar with Virginia, as I've been assigned there several times. Most of the locations that you listed are in the large urban areas of the state: Northern Virginia (NOVA), Richmond or Hampton Roads, which are all found in the eastern half of the state. Virginia's cost of living is quite high, especially in NOVA!
I was planning to move to Virginia to escape the Industrial north. Do you recommend anywhere?
