20 years ago I did my own MEUSOC version using variant 1 and 2 parts, with some extra stainless steel parts I wanted... Did it with an Imbel/Springfield bones. Been shooting it ever since.
Beautiful clone guys! KC Kustoms makes an exact replica for about $3,500. They manufactured some of the parts that aren’t made anymore, for example, the pachmayr rubber beaver tail grip safety and the proper sights.
This is great. I grew up shooting 1911s and Hi Powers that were my Uncle's. I always set up my 1911s precisely like that, just like my Uncle did; Pachmayr grips, beavertail grip safety (he had the beavertail on hi Hi Power extended). I just foxed my match grade Government up to this, and my Officer, but I also drop in Ed Brown extended oversized magazine release buttons, and on the full size ones, Ed Brown arched ridged mainspring housings for Government or Commander models and on my Officer, a Smith and Alexander Arched and Checkered mainspring housing. Too bad you cant still find the original bulged Pachmayr grips for officers. The new Pachmayrs are made up in a far inferior rubber. Anyway, I really enjoyed this. Thanks. One of these days, I want one of yr blued numbers; Im a sucker for real, old school bluing like I have on my old Smith and Wessons and on my Uberti Taylor and Co., Schofield.
Reading up on this pistol on your site it was so damn interesting how that 1911 led up to the famous M45A1. Sadly it was a limited run, I hope and pray this will be a standard "custom production" in the future
This is way off topic, but when nick mentioned that these could go full auto because of bump fire, I thought back to I believe a Paul Harrell vid where he mentioned someone told him that 1911s were full auto, or something to that effect. This is probably where that rumor started!
Well, jokes and sh!ts aside, back in the days of Korean War, there were 1911's made to be select-fire capable via a switch and some rods that can manipulate the sear and disconnector down.
I know this may seam nit picky to some. “Resto-Mod” refers to something that has been “restored” but in a custom modern way, modern internals ect. It always kinda feels weird to me to hear that term put to a new production thing. “Retro-Mod” (Retro Modern) fits much better. Because it’s not a original thing being “restored” so “resto” doesn’t fit.
@@defconcreative He's right, it is RETRO, instead of RESTO. And in the car world, when you take a classic mustang coupe and convert it to a fastback, that's called "cloning". So, if you think about it, this gun would really be Retro-Clone.

Bought back memories soon as I seen the title Semper Fi
Keep up the great work Cabot/Alchemy.
You should have segments with the gunsmiths talking about the work that they do 👍
We do have something like that, check our channel out!
Glad you guys are giving attention to a legendary pistol that in many ways got me into 1911's. Looks fantastic!

For history sake....Delta was using custom 1911s from the start, in 1977
Started with usgi national match guns, that were modded for combat
Is that kings style the egw clone blacked out? Very cool resting mod you guys did it again!

Everyone is trying to build this gun nowadays including me with my dooky RIA 1911 😭😭
Is that the EGW Kings style safety, sold through KC Customs ?
No, we got them from EGW
I got my order in on one!

Good point…. I actually like that reasoning and may steal it.
@@defconcreative go for it . That’s why I mentioned it. That’s what I refer to my personal retro AR builds as.

I’d walk away from you guys at a party. It’s a couple of gun geeks talking about guns, at least we like something similar
See, THIS is what the M1911A2 should have been. Disregard the Beretta. The M45A1 should have been the M1911A3.
