    I'm just a photography hobbyist so all my photography is for myself but I really love the message you present in this video. Thanks for sharing.

    Your work is lovely. I came by here because I am looking for a square filter system. I recently bought a Bronica S2A to shoot film. Film shooting requires filters. Thanks for posting a review of the K&F Concept system.
    I then decided to look at some of your other videos. This one attracted me. I am an amateur photographer and have been for 50-some years. I have taken on work now and again, but mostly for friends or for students who needed headshots but couldn't afford a professional. So, I'm a hack.
    But... what you say in this video rings true regardless of what one does. I've been watching a lot of Alex Kilbee's videos recently (he's a great teacher) and am reminded of Stephen Pressfield's work as a writer.
    Pressfield's thesis is "Be professional. Show up every day. Do the work." Kilbee's words and teaching is very similar, although I don't know if he's read Pressfield.
    What does this have to do with your video? Well, I hear the same theme resonating in your presentation. Get out, make some images, do the work for yourself that needs to be done as well as the work that pays the bills. I think that approach sets things up for God's providence to step in and take over.
    Because you did that work, you won a favored client. That's God's providence, my friend.
    Blessings...

      Thanks for such a wonderfully detailed response… the nut of everything is Providential. 👍

    I have not one nit to pick with what you said. I am this way with retouching too. In regards to both photography and retouching, I have the technical side down very well after 20+ years. (though I'm always up for learning more) BUT... it is my inner artist that I most want to develop. I have improved on that but I have far to go. I know because I see work that's better than mine. My ultimate aim is to marry the technical with the artistic, and shoot with how I'm going to retouch in mind - hand in glove so to speak. Just one regret - I wish I had gotten into all of this when I was much younger.
    You deserve your success, you've earned it.

      Thanks for such a wonderful comment. Keep in mind that the beauty of being a creative is that we can always improve, grow, and develop new skills. And there will always be someone who has better work than us, always. It’s what should push everyone to be/do better. 👍

    When you licensed the photos, you give them the raw images? and/or processed JPegs?

    • @JohnMagnoski
      @JohnMagnoski  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never the raw files. Only final, retouched images in JPG or TIFF in either sRGB or AdobeRGB color space (depending on the client's needs). Most often, I am delivering files in JPG in sRGB since the majority of images are not being printed these days.
