Dal Chana 1/2cup
Dal Masoor 1/2cup
Water 5cups
Red Chili Powder 1tbs
Turmeric Powder 1/2tbs
Cumin Powder 2/3tbs
Garlic 4cloves
Green Chilies 3
Tomato1 large
Onion 1large
Salt 1/2tbs
Oil 1/4cup
Ginger 1inch
Round Dry Red Chili 4
Cumin 1/2tsp
Rice-
Oil/Ghee 1/3cup
Green Cardamom 3
Cloves
Bay Leaf 1
Cumin 1tbs
Onion 1medium
Rice 1/2kg soaked
Water 3.5cups (hot preferred)

Hi Thank you for always sharing wonderful recipes. I made daal for lunch today using this recipe. To enhance the flavour I added (dry METHi FENUGREEK) and 2 tablespoon of butter at the end. :)

Notes for myself: add coriander powder in the spice blend, add garlic slices in the tarka and emulsify cold brown butter at the end. Finish with some garam masala or smoked paprika
