I would also suggest Robert Furrow, and Greg Laurie as dependable Bible teachers. A Bible that is arranged into 365 days of reading helped me because I read each day's portion. I also used the free scripture memory songs on TH-cam to help me memorize the Bible.

Praying and reading in the Psalms has brought me great comfort during life's storms.
I am learning the hard way to trust in God first. Trust and obey and get into God's word where I know I'll be safe. The attack from the evil one is real and relentless and I speak from experience, so, I do know where you are coming from. I need peace just like you do. Let's pray for each other that the fire and arrows go over our heads for a change. I wish you peace and know we are not defeated because we have all we need in God. Peace! You are protected.

HELMET OF SALVATION - Paul actually does clarify this, in 1 Thessalonians 5:8 he tells us to put on for a helmet "the hope of salvation." I have found that remembering and focusing on how the Lord has saved me, and the promise of the World to Come, has been very effective in protecting my thinking

i am from atlanta and grew up with first baptist in my life. i remember when the church was downtown atlanta before moving to the suburbs. It'sgreat to see Dr. Stanley in younger years. He was animated and always moving. When I was living in sin, no matter how deep i sank, I always clung to his teachinngs. "Watch This" or "listen Here" are repeated often in his sermons.

The armor of God
1. Truth: we need to know the true about God and ourselves
To have a consciousness about this battle
2. The breathplate of righteousness: It protects us in our feelings and others things
3. Put on our feet the preparation of the gospel of peace
4. Take up the shield of faith: we need to protect ourselves, we get in the battle to grow it
5. Take the helmet of salvation: It protects our thinking from voices, he protects us from doubting God
6. Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: when we begin to read God's word we begin to know how to use it
All this armor help us to stand firm but accompanied with praying becouse we use that armor there and we get God's will through it
