Thanks very much for this very helpful video! Heads up, I don't know if it's just on my Abarth (2013), but my filter cover need a 5.5 mm socket, not a 5 mm one--so if anyone else is having trouble with their cover, I'd try a slightly larger socket
The ridged part of the filter should be at the top and bottom so the groves run perpendicular to the ground. The filter has an airflow indicator which should point towards the rear of the vehicle.
I saw that in another video. But does it make a difference? Airflow direction might be a thing, but does it matter what orientiation the filter is in? Isn't it square?
I work on a lot of abarths in the uk and we have to remove the 17mm bolt on the steering column and then move the steering column out of the way to be able to get to the 5mm bolts and remove the cabin filter.
Just FYI, the screws for the filter cover are NOT 5mm as stated in the video. They are SAE size 7/32. Very stupid but not a surprise coming from Chrysler.
5.5 millimetre fits them ...my old Snap-on quater drive 5.5 mil was for similar little bolt heads occasionally over 38 years working in my Car workshop ..yes i noted also the wrong size given ...Throw him to the lions or shall we let him go?😂❤
With all of the initial problems these “upgraded” springs caused for many fiat owners, we are not a fan of these. From my understanding, the initial problems have been corrected though. We will not be doing an install video on that but thank you for the request.
I had no idea there was a cabin filter in this little car , I notice odor just after I turn off the AC , I imagine this has more to do with the cooling coil than the air filter being dirty , but I believe my 2017 is 5 treats old now , def past over due !
Just tried to do mine, but apparently my bolt size for the filter cover are not quite 5mm. I tried every socket in that size range but nothing. There is a small plastic lip around the bolts that may be impeding the socket making good contact too, but no dice. I may have to go yell at a Fiat tech at the dealership now.
@@NGENCustomsandPerformance don't get me started ...I got it from a used car lot I did research and I heard all the cons people have w these vehicles but I'm trying to do all the work on it myself ....the dealer guy tells me " I just did the oil change on it " I said ok 👌 but already had it on my head to do the tune up as soon as I brought it home ...the oil drain plug was stripped took me 2 days to get it out and the oil was black burnt nasty black ...transmission had bearly 1 quart...now it sounds and runs better

Good tutorial, shows every step, very nice! Thanks a lot!
Really like these maintenance videos, thanks!
Ever doing a rear spoiler install? Great videos

Jamie Tustin major difference between LHD and RHD.

Lions for sure, lol
Can you do a video for FIAT 124 Spider Cabin air filter replacement??
Edward F Ragno yes we are planning on doing that
Is the cabin filter directional like the engine filter?
This type usually is directional. It'll be marked with an arrow. Haven't changed it on my Fiat but looks the same as 90% I've changed.
Do a Multiair Vavle Spring Upgrade for the 124 spider please.

Uh oh! I’ve had mine for a year and a half (she just rolled over to 14k miles). Better order one!

I just found the same thing. After a bit more digging it seems the screws are American standard 7/32
Just changed it on my 2012 fiat 500 sport manual, I recently bought...it still had the factory filter it was disgusting

@@perplexhaze3353 if you maintain them, they are very reliable. Get all of the maintenance up to date and you should be fine
