      @@EWillard44 I'm so sorry, I owe you a plate of wings. I have like mental dyslexia where I say things that sounds similar to what I want to say but isn't the thing i want to say. It's very frustrating for me and I imagine people who watch. I'm working on getting better at it.

      great recipe. i was wondering if there is a difference between using canola oil or something like avocado oil or olive oil. Does it affect how they come out?

    • @t8ertot
      @t8ertot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mac_88_59 I believe it will come out more or less the same, except with olive oil you'll get a bit of olive oil flavor in the wings which could make them taste a bit weird. Canola oil is a neutral oil so it won't add any flavor to the wings, it's just used for browning and crisping up the skin. Not too sure about avocado oil though as ive never used it.

    As someone who has many years in the industry, I need to point out how refreshing it is to see someone who (at times) messes up, but shows how to fix the issue. I find the biggest issue with instructional cooking videos is that they make people follow recipes religiously, causing most of the application based fuckups. Take care guys, and great job man.

    I followed your procedure to a T and they came out amazing. I never would have thought they could be that good without frying. I didn’t get a chance to make your sauce I’m afraid as I had some leftover from a Chef John recipe, but as it turns out your sauce wasn’t that different so it probably came out essentially similar. Didn't miss the fryer at all. And thr blue cheese is off the hook. You can't find real homemade blue cheese in Vegas like you get in New York. The sauce is perfection (I did add a little cayenne for some more heat-never ever knew about the honey and Worcester sauce additions before 🤯). Can’t wait to sit down to some abfab wings. Thank you!

    I'm from Rochester, close enough to Buffalo that we know good wings. And you nailed all the critical elements here, well done! Blue cheese looks great, you got the Frank's & butter base for the wing sauce, and those are the crucial parts. The oven method looked solid too... I don't think wings need to be fried necessarily as long as you nail the sauce. Hell of a job, bud!

Sometime I have added dried spice mixes to the mixture and left the liquid sauce out of the mix (eg. 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Cajun Foreplay Dry Spice Rub and 1 teaspoon BP) Give it a try and let me know what you think. I actually don't understand the love for Frank's. Don't get me wrong it isn't a bad hot sauce but there are a lot of better hot sauces out there. I usually use a combination to get what I really want. One of my favorite combos is to start with Crystal hot sauce for the sweetness, add sriracha for some of that garlicy chunky tang, and then use a hotter sauce to pump up the heat.

    • @OZTutoh
      @OZTutoh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should say that, as my favourite comfort food, it's good to know I don't really need to improve on Frank's Wing sauce.
