Lived ad studied in Lucerne in early 70ies! Born in Basel, I love Lucerne and sister and husband live there, while we have emigrated to New Zealand in 1980 :). We have been back to Switzerland a few times, but always glad to come back to more laid back and spacious NZ.
Dearest, sadly this is no longer a dream country We have a totalitarian woman Prime Minister who is wrecking it all. Yes, lovely nature but life herehas become very very difficult, especially since COVID. My family is anti jab mandate, but she wants to force it. You may have seen the protests crushed by violent police.
Thank you for the excellent video. I watched it so early in the morning sipping a hot cup of brewed coffee. While my brother and his family have been to Lucrene, (US CITIZENS) i saw swiss countryside by eurail as well as stayed in Geneva for a couple of days ( one function to be attended of a family friend). Been to 11 countries incl Hongkong, mauritius, london, europe excepting scandinavian. Overall my europe experiance was great. Now i'm visiting europe and the world through TH-cam.ha,ha,ha. Lastly, my profound thanks to you for uploading such a nice video which softens our life's blow. Prasad LBV / Mr INDIA
I went there, I ate fondue & drank wine & beer on the Wilhelm Tell out on that lake. I think it was a paddle boat. You definitely want to visit this town if you're going to Switzerland. Got a Swiss Army knife there too 😆
Lovely video, as always. Thanks for posting. I also like the window pane part of the video showing maps and different shots as you discuss the history.
excellent commentary and video. However, the beauty, the atmosphere in Luzern cannot be captured in words or pictures. You need to go there to experience a paradise on earth
Thanks. I agree, and that's why I make the movies, to encourage you to go -- but despite the limitations of video I try to replicate the scene as well as possible, putting it all in a one-hour package that would take a few days to see on foot. You can watch part 2 already here: th-cam.com/video/MXcNLuHjEGE/w-d-xo.html
I reckon that could be a nice place to move to and live...I'll have to take a visit soon...but I'm looking for a new place to settle down. How is the Eye Candy there?
I always enjoy your post about European tours. Especially the ones about Switzerland. Switzerland has to be the most beautiful of European countries. Well, that's my opinion at least. Anyway, thank you for posting.
Thanks for your concern, I'm doing great. I just released another new video, about Cinque Terre, got 5K views in opening day, th-cam.com/video/iGjKP37S3Qg/w-d-xo.html Many new videos coming soon, stay tuned. I have been devoting some time lately to writing a picture guidebook to the Netherlands, nearly finished.

Thanks, in all humility, I must agree. Differences between us are: he is almost always on camera, big ego, the constant center of attention, while I am rarely in the way of the subject. My shows are much more in depth, with longer coverage. I focus on the place itself, from one end to the other, with specific tips on how to get around, practical advice, while he often huddles in someone's home or shop talking personal chit chat. Most of my narration is casual, improvised conversation, his, scripted. I do all the production myself, camera, audio, graphics, research and editing, his crew does the work. No denying he does create a good product that has been wildly successful, along with his line of books, humanitarian outlook and strong support for PBS, but whenever I watch him I get that competitive urge...I can do waaay better, yeah. Thanks.
Have to agree with this. Find your videos extremely helpful. Lucerne is definitely on my list. Even as a European, there are so many places I haven't seen, and these vids help enormously. Watched the one with the walk down to Zermatt from Sunnegga and just had to do it. Glad I did! Keep 'em coming!
That was a nice information on Luzern and so easy to do sightseing on your own with this video clip in your mobile. Visiting on 11 June 2023.
I'm glad you are able to bring it with you that way.

Hey Dennis. Enjoyed your videos. Are you alright? Because there are no videos from you recently. Stay healthy.

waiting for subtitles, love your video.
OK, subtitles published now for both parts.
Thanks for the video, hoping to see it 2025
I also hope you get to see it -- so beautiful.
sehr schoenes Video! In dieser gedeckten Holzbruecke war mein Name eingraffiert dating back ins Jahr 1946;aber ein Feuer zerstoerte meine Kunst
Except for the lively flow of tourists, time seems to stand still since I was there in the spring to autumn of 1967.
Je n'aime pas ce procédé de division d'écran auquel vous recourrez, et qui ne permet pas une visualisation détaillée de ce que vous présentez.
This video is not from 2017 right?
This is a comprehensive look at Lucerne that was photographed over several years, most recently in 2016.
you are waaay better than Rick Steve.

@@denniscallan My wife and I definitely agree. You give the practical type advice that is needed. Keep up the great work!
Cut every single penny possible from my *mumbling* pay*mumbling* throughout this year ---> TO SWITZERLAND. Or better yet, TO EUROPE
It Wouldn't Hurt you to learn a little bit of German!!!
Too many tourists
😍🥰
