Hi Deyanira! TY for your video! You mentioned many awesome points! Yes! We need more representation in the mental health career field! I think it must be a beautiful feeling to hear the realization (of your client) in truly how helpful mental health services can be. To make someone realize that therapy is not for "locos," and that therapy helps people get to know themselves better and reflect on themselves, we all need someone to talk to, which is where genuine mental health practitioners come in!!🤍
I’m so glad I came across your blog! I am also from the RGV working on my LPC in Austin. I’ve recently opened a small online practice as well. Looking forward to watching you grow!
Omgosh it was such a culture shock when I moved from Laredo to do my Masters in Denton 😅 where you can’t get breakfast tacos 🥹 or flamin hots with cheese (hate crimes lol) 🙌🏻
I love that you brought up our differences. Even when we are both from the same state, growing up in the DFW area vs south TX is SO different. I can tell when someone is from the Valley/ El Passo by their accent :) I love it !
I am taking my NCE early August! And you have helped so much!! Thank you for making these videos! Watching all your videos eased my nerves while studying! Keep making them and inspiring the latino community! ❤️ 😊
I also love that you said " embrace being authentic in your own latinidad and the way you represent your culture without all of the noise that others say that you should do" I love love love love it !!! I'm doing my first presentation on this in August! I'm son nervous.
I loved your video! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! I'm also latina, living in US and finishing my foreign master in Psicotherapy. Could you give me any tips related to getting a license in US using my foreign study, por favor? :D
I love watching you videos! I am currently in my last semester of grad school to become a counselor and I am preparing to take my NCE. I am a second generation Mexican American and I live in Northern Minnesota where there is almost none who provides bilingual and culturally informed therapy for the Latino and Hispanic populations here. I resonated with your statement of "not from there but not from here" and not being "Mexican enough." I love that you shared your thoughts on this important topic.
Thank you Paula!! I’m so happy you’re here. You’re going to make such a huge difference in your community, congratulations on being on step closer to licensure👏🏼😊

Thanks girl!!! 🤎🥰

It's funny because my parents are so proud and always brag to everyone that their daughter is a therapist. But they do not ever want to go therapy lol
Jajaja yeeees, this😂👏🏼 They’re ready to bring us all the clients.❤️
