The instrumental music reminds me of the times when Hannibal is preparing food in his kitchen and you can hear the distant screams of me saying: THAT. IS. NOT. BEEF.
Kat: "the fact that people want to read my recommendations is bananas to me" also Kat: *has 249k subscribers on her TH-cam channel where she recommends books.*
We're getting closer and closer to the day when Kat will ascend from making normal booktube videos and start creating eccentric and abstract pieces of art, like all the greats before her
10:38 i've read radio silence, pretty girls, everything i never told you, bunny, hunger, i'm thinking of ending things, sharp objects, the great believers, how to make friends with the dark, long way down and the poet x because of you so yeah... people want to read your recs!
Maybe you don’t realize it but you have no idea how your (reading) vlogs are fun and comforting to watch. It’s like being invited in a cozy bubble and it’s awesome. And the fact that it’s sometimes chaotic and disorganized adds to all this. It gives it a very distinct atmosphere and identity to your footage that I personally love. So, if sometimes you hesitate vlogging because you fear it’ll be “contentless”, don’t. As far as I am concerned it’s always a pleasure to watch. Lots of love with a mask on and social distancing types of hugs from France.
My kittens watched this with me and they kept trying to eat my phone; I’m gonna have to conclude that the energy of this video is so good that they had no choice but consume it to gain its power
I was literally writing a paper about how greek culture has built ours and you posted your video and I was like... Excuse me? KAT IS ALL THE CULTURE I NEED.
To be more precise I screencasted the video on my tv and shook my whole upper body, you can paint your own image if you like (if not I understand, I am incredibly sleep deprived)
The music you chose for this video gave me Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo vibes and I like that. Really gave the impression you were slowly losing your mind. 11/10
When the violin starts playing in the beginning and we see her working feverishly, then she be like "ive only written a page." did anyone else think of that spongebob episode when he's going crazy writing that paper only to have written "the." hahahahaha :D
"in the year 3000, as our faves the Jo Bros said" I will have you know that ACTUALLY that song was written by the british legends that are Busted, that music video is honestly.... a chaotic MESS i highly recommend
I totally second what you said about the US education system. A quote that has always stuck with me was from my AP psych teacher in high school was "school steals your joy of reading." They were totally right - Prior to high school and college, I routinely read multiple and varied types of books and it was my biggest hobby growing up. Now I am 24 with a masters and JUST NOW getting back into reading for fun. It's still such a struggle to focus on books, but watching your channel has been such a fun ride and inspiration. Thanks for all the chaotic content!
"the fact that ppl wanna read my rec. is bananas to me" 10:38 meanwhile im nearly done reading radio silence and ordered the troop today all because of you lmao (radio silence is a masterpiece btw im in luv ;-; )
Watching this after spending an entire day studying and stressing over uni - - this is really relatable content. We love to see. The spinning around on the chair in the first 2 minutes or so truly spoke to me
i study exactly the same way, being messy, talking to myself and everything and it’s such a relief seeing that i am not the only one!! thank you for this content from the bottom of my heart
definitely relatable, since I went through similar motions while working on a college presentation this week! I felt like your Monday was my Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.
As weird as that sounds, this vid is kinda ... comforting to me? :D Even tho u are right, "normal" absolutely does not have any meaning in this here life, this kinda reminds me of the Good Old Days of ~ normal uni ~. Like, i started a PhD last month and it kinda feels like i signed up for 6yrs of finals week w/out having anyone to suffer w/ bc as opposed to when I took classes nobody is doing exactly the same things i am doing? Sooo while i'm obviously doing what i do bc i am passionate abt it (i am sure not doing an English Lit PhD for the money lol), it is also lonely af and study related vlogs give me the undergrad/M.A. vibes i am craving, so thank youuuu!! Also, ur studies sound really fascinating, loving that bronze age stuff! (And i so need a flip chart bord thingy!!)
I absolutely love your vibes bro. If you think this blog wasn't trashy content, trust me on this, it wasn't. It HELPED me get in my seat and start studying. I need more of this Kat. Here, love you for you.. whatever you're doing these days 💗
Kat getting stressed about Mycenaean art while an energy drink sits ominously in the foreground basically sums up my education, thank you, I feel represented
I recently read the Catcher in the Rye for much the same reason (didn't have to read it in school, but felt I had to for the sake of discourse) and ..."Holden's general... vibe" ugh yes! Thank you. I 100% agree with all that you expressed re the Catcher in the Rye.
Your bronze age essay ~journey~ gave me flashbacks to undergrad in a BIG WAY lmao - I was a history major and have definitely taken over a conference room with my notes and felt that dramatic music in my soul 🙈 you give wonderful recs (finished I'm Thinking of Ending Things last night and was like 🤯🤯) , your content is great and I'm rooting for you!
i love this type of vlog. makes me feel normal cuz most of the youtubers i subscribe to have normal sleep schedule and has routines (which i wanna do but am clearly failing). SOOO, i watch this whenever i want someone to be chaotic with 🤠
'the fact that people wanna read my recommendations 🤯' Girl you inspired me to start reading again after abandoning it for like 5 years (and yes, your recommendations always deliver!!)
I already bought the troop but I've been too scared to read it. This was a fun video to watch! I'm also struggling with assignments so seeing you get your work done is really motivating. Me being able to say "I would call this day a success" while my dad watches over me the way Larry did at 8:05 is the dream
OMG YOU PUT MY RELATIONSHIP WITH CLASSICS IN A SENTENCE! I also like reading classics and I also like researching them, reading articles that analyse the story or give background information on the themes and motifs or the time period or the author. And the idea pf being a literature student, working with books academically sounds kinda cool but also I just want to read, shittalk characters I don't like and ask stupid questions all day, not analyse what the colour of the curtains symbolises or be forced to say intelligent stuff cause I'm not clever and I don't ever pick up on subtlety or symbols... Basically I would love to study literature but also I would fail at it. So I just keep reading them myself or with bookclubs, research a little but and enjoy literature without any pressure to perform well academically
kat: literally stressing out for 20 min straight
me: grand amazing showstopping out of this world fantastic
The instrumental music reminds me of the times when Hannibal is preparing food in his kitchen and you can hear the distant screams of me saying: THAT. IS. NOT. BEEF.
HAHAHAH
I laughed out loud
ok im living for this comment
AH SAME
😂 😂 I was thinking Portrait of a Lady on Fire, VERY different vibes
“Unzip my skin suit” I CACKLED
Kat: "the fact that people want to read my recommendations is bananas to me"
also Kat: *has 249k subscribers on her TH-cam channel where she recommends books.*
Hahah I bet she’s still confused by it. Doesn’t realize she’s great.
Whats means is bananas?
larry staring through the door sent me
WE ARE ALL LARRY'S SOLDIERS 💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿💪
The instrumental music is so dramatic - I am LIVING for it.
Vivaldi 4 life
I feel like so much classical music is dramatic lol
It’s “The Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi. This is the Summer trio
I love you
Ikr! The violin is sick! Classical music>>>most of today's music which is essentially just noise.
False advertising. That was way more entertaining than a "normal" week.
We're getting closer and closer to the day when Kat will ascend from making normal booktube videos and start creating eccentric and abstract pieces of art, like all the greats before her
I have a fat crush on the current state of your hair
Kat's a good student, you can not say she's not, I mean, she just made a timeline for organizing her ideas, I'm so into this
my gpa feels validated thank u
The manic energy for two hours only to cut to "I've written a page" is a college mood. I don't miss it lol
3:25 didnt notice you were on your knees so I was like "why is the furniture so high"
I just thought she was short...
Sammmeee I thought exactlyyyyyy that🤣🤣
Same!
Same!!
Hahahaha i thought im the only one...
*the way the music intensified when she seems to be freaking out over something and the way the video speeds up when she seems to be yelling*
"HeEeRe's LaRrY!"
honestly all of yall could do a reenactment of the shining's most iconic moments and i wouldn't complain
long speed shot of her doing school work:
"I wrote one page" LMFAOOOO
If anyone is interested in the classical pieces:
1:30 Vivaldi - Storm
4:13 Litvinovsky - Le Grand Cahier X. L’Incendie
Kat your taste is exquisite
THANKYOU I CAN NOW ACT LIKE A CAFFEINE DRUNK ACADEMIC WHEN I PAINT
Omg, thank you so so much aaa
THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SEARCH FOR THEM SPECIFICALLY THE FIRST MINUTE !!!!
This felt like a Wes Anderson short film
wow you were really not lying when u said "become increasingly more unhinged"
10:38 i've read radio silence, pretty girls, everything i never told you, bunny, hunger, i'm thinking of ending things, sharp objects, the great believers, how to make friends with the dark, long way down and the poet x because of you so yeah... people want to read your recs!
that's BONKERS!!!!
Kat read Pretty Girls?? Is that where I got that rec from?? I couldn't remember if I got it from a booktuber or just stumbled upon it myself.
@@broadwaybutterfly310 yes, of course, there was even a Papercut discussion covering it!
@@paperbackdreams many more are awaiting actually haha i honestly can't wait for your horror recs!!

The minimal halloween decor in your room is just *chefs kiss*
That is some dramatic music for our dramatic queen.
My kittens watched this with me and they kept trying to eat my phone; I’m gonna have to conclude that the energy of this video is so good that they had no choice but consume it to gain its power
This made my DAY thank you for this
"What is this, week 8? Ew. We've been doing this for 8 weeks?" ME.
I was literally writing a paper about how greek culture has built ours and you posted your video and I was like... Excuse me? KAT IS ALL THE CULTURE I NEED.
POV: your me watching the Monday montage and thrusting your head to every stroke of the violin
I was moving my hand to the rhythm because I’m a violin player.😂
I had to cover my front camera because that’s what I was doing hahaha
To be more precise I screencasted the video on my tv and shook my whole upper body, you can paint your own image if you like (if not I understand, I am incredibly sleep deprived)
you might think it's an atrocity but this is the content i needed
Kat: "Basically I'm really close to *one* of my aunts-"
Me: *Oh shit, drama.*
Kat has posted? What a blessing ✨
as a recent college grad who wrote my best papers while writing stuff down on a whiteboard while yell-explaining things to my friends, i support
i mean if you ever plan to change this channel to studytube, just know that I'll be here. 👀❤

Honestly after watching Noelle’s vid I was like it’s been a while since Kat uploaded
And here we are
I’m so happy :))
hey Kat!! just want to say another thank you for all ur content this year, it’s been a big part of me surviving everything!! ☺️
Absolutely relatable 🤝
Saying “Bewildered” will give Kat PTSD from “that specific series I rated ;)”
Larry's face appearing in that window made me jump
i really was just vibing with that violin over the monday montage
i come back to this even after a year because it still motivates me smh
The Essay Soundtrack. I'm living for it.
i loved this video a lot despite how chaotic it is that’s my favorite thing
I totally second what you said about the US education system. A quote that has always stuck with me was from my AP psych teacher in high school was "school steals your joy of reading." The meme editing in the intro really matches the chaoticness of the video.
I've been out of school for several years. Every time I wax nostalgic about college life I'm going to watch this video to snap me back to reality.
i'm so here for this academia content (but also that intro like yes)
I CAN'T STOP SMILING 🥺
instead of preparing for my class that starts in 15 minutes i’m going to watch this
Your journey with the paper you were writing at the beginning was me with every essay I ever wrote at uni
"the fact that ppl wanna read my rec. is bananas to me" 10:38
meanwhile im nearly done reading radio silence and ordered the troop today all because of you lmao
(radio silence is a masterpiece btw im in luv ;-; )
COMPLETELY BANANAS!!! enjoy the troop!
Don't apologize, this is exactly the type of content we want ;)
Kat and Harry Styles are the same, they both starve us thoroughly before posting anything 😂
Kat using Vivaldi’s Summer from Four Season and reminding me of rewatching Portrait of a Lady on Fire after this video.
coming back to this iconic video 2yrs later because i miss kat content and love this video sm
hard same😔😔
Sameee
currently in love with the vibe you give off
This has now turned into my motivation video, for when i am stuck doing school work
Me seeing you plan that essay for art history in the Bronze Age is so exciting to me bc I study archaeology and it sounds soooo interesting!!
I too am in Archeology.
I’m NOT very good at it tho
Yee! As a soon to be history student, this is super interesting😍
chaotic academia at its finest SHE AINT LYING
catcher in the rye is one of my faves bc i was also. sad n angry n confused but i fully get why so many ppl don't like it/find it annoying
"it's going to be a day of riveting content you can get nowhere else" indeed it is, katherine
the way I relate to this on both an academic and spiritual level
8:05 this is the content I came for, thank you larry.
this is the most relatable thing ever Kat, not pathetic. schools got us all struggling rn
The way you say "what's up TUESDAY?!" like a bully, I diiiiied
chaotic academia is my new drag name
Teach us your minimalist ways Kat
this is the most chaotic academic thing I’ve seen so far
I'm only on monday... and I relate to this SO MUCH! I'm working on my 2nd masters, while working full time...BRAIN IS FRIED
Kat, damn near my entire horror shelf has been supplemented by your (and Larry’s) recommendations! 😂
Watching this after spending an entire day studying and stressing over uni - - this is really relatable content. We love to see. The spinning around on the chair in the first 2 minutes or so truly spoke to me
i study exactly the same way, being messy, talking to myself and everything and it’s such a relief seeing that i am not the only one!! thank you for this content from the bottom of my heart
the most relatable part is (are? is? english is dumb and not my native language) the many confused faces kat makes throughout this
Hearing your voice brings me so much joy 💖
I love this with an intense passion its giving me fuel for my chaotic academia jazz
“Every time I think about this book I just *turns into Alanis Morrisette*”
the instrumental music making everything feel very dramatic and high stakes YES loved that
definitely relatable, since I went through similar motions while working on a college presentation this week! I felt like your Monday was my Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.

I lOVE THE CHAOS. your vlogs are honestly my favourite. You should do more of them.
I thought you were standing at 3:27 and kept thinking "wow, thats a really big chair" *facepalm*
Ps: loved the Vivaldi segment
Me, who isn't american: am in love with the catcher in the rye .
Kat: "I gave it 2 stars"
Me: "keep calm keep calm, keeeeep calm"

This was super fun too watch despite your clear desperation LOL the part you were writing on the board seemed super dramatic and I was vibing with it
Thank you! I needed this today. And the vlog style is amazing.
I am here for the chaos and only the chaos. And she delivers spectacularly.
The instrumental music as you slowly lose your mind is the way my life goes whenever I’m doing schoolwork
It's 11:30pm where I live so this is perfect before bed 🍰😌

the vivaldi hit me like a freight train. it made the chaotic academia experience 10x more chaotic, and i live for it.
That's the appropriate response to Catcher in the Rye tbh.
I honestly just really enjoyed watching your process for writing your paper. Maybe more than I should have.
