Forty bucks for a record?! I really feel for music lovers and serious vinyl collectors, because record labels practically exploit them knowing how fashionable vinyl has become again. You know Morgan, there was a time, not that long ago, when vinyl cost as much as CD-s nowadays (from 8 to 13 bucks), and that is the realistic price. After all, it is only a piece of 'plastic' while the rest is cardboard. Some of those sought after records you mentioned are around 100 bucks. Well, after a long term saving, I've finally bought an excellent Denon amplifier for around 400 bucks, which means, for the price of only 4 of those records you can get a piece of equipment that works like a beast. What kind of ratio is that? (It is beyond me...)

You’re absolutely right. I don’t like spending $40 on a record but it’s the only way to get some albums I like on vinyl. So I have to bite the bullet. That’s why I’ve slowed down on buying vinyl these last 2 years. I wish the average price of new vinyl was $20 or less these days. I love when I can get a deal like that on a used or older record. Since I’m not buying a lot of vinyl right now maybe I could use that money to upgrade my equipment. That’s probably a better investment (in my collection) than a few $100 records.

That's funny I just watched Melinda's vid yesterday. Good vid. Keep them coming 😎I had no clue Ludwig did the Tenent soundtrack. I loved what he did for Black Panther.

Lol. Ludwig is awesome, I agree his work on Black Panther is incredible! I also like what he did for Star Wars The Mandalorian.

Vinyl is far too expensive these days - though back in the 90s/early 2000s when it was all but a dead format and only bought by DJs and dance music fans you'd easily pay £10 for a 12" single (I can't comment on US prices, but I assume they were similar.)
I'm glad CDs are so cheap these days, though some rare albums still cost a fortune.

Yeah as much as I love vinyl, I don't like how expensive it is. I've seen some expensive CDs too, but most of them are very affordable.

i thought for sure your vinyl of your album would have made the list 🤔

I considered it but my thought process for this vid was that I can just order another one to replace it. But if a true emergency happened I would grab it too, even though I left it out of the video.

@MorganBrandon out of all my CD, Vinyl and Blu-ray collections, it would be a very hard choice to pick things to save. Though I would hope that we never have to lose anything.

Right exactly. During the summer I've had some close calls with tornados, so I've had to think about important things to bring with me to safety. But like you said, ideally I hope we never need to choose what to save.
