I agree with your concern. Manipulating nature can be a double edged sword. If it's a hobby farm then you might try a small area. You can always rip them all out and replace if it goes pear shaped. But if you live off the crop then I would be more cautious. If it were my farm I would wait until someone else in Australia tried it on maccas and get their feedback.

I don’t mind a good experiment Jane - you’d have picked that up already I’m sure. But this one does worry me. Maybe block 5…

@@nutkinfarm yes. But hope it's been tested enough so it won't spread to other trees out of the test area.

Use a control group. Apply it to a tree or 3, then watch the progress. Seems the easiest way to figure i out. Give it 5 years, should be a good enough time. One or three trees won't hurt anything.

That being said, never trust a yank!

Thanks Robert. A basis for comparison is pretty important. Not something that would muck up my whole nutrition program for the farm though - that needs to be one size fits all for the time being!

Does that mean you’re going to try it Matti?

No. I have already done enough experimenting with new variety’s and planting methods. I’ll let some more data come through, hopefully some more information on variety G comes through sooner or later regarding pruning.

Well, I know what happens when you plant grapes in an area where chickens have been kept for years, it turns the vines into lush weeds with no grapes for years and years , same with my plumb.tree.😂
Back to your dilemma. I think you should be cautious, too many unknowns, what exactly do you think being early will achieve? Also will dedicated equipment be required to stop cross contamination by contractors? Farming for profit is hard as you know and if it was me I would only do it if I were payed by these companies . EDIT : If you truly believe in the technology , maybe investing in the company is an alternative option? , Although most are running for Safe Haven Assets like GOLD right now.
