Sometimes I wish I could come visit just so I could go through the zines and books that you’ve received from people. I’ve seen some incredible work and inspiration!
@canoe I think you have something there. If anyone would be incredibly good at curating an AOP group exhibit I’d think Ted would be the guy (particularly given his background working in museums and his contacts within the art curation industry).
My hat off to Mr. Ralph Gibson for passing pearls of wisdom to you Ted Forbes! He is totally right and also what you said to few of the fellows who sent you their work, hardly anyone will stop and think with what gear was this image accomplished with. Thank you Ted for loving Photography so much and for always making great content to inspire us all through your wonderful channel!
You and Alec Soth slogging it out for title of "Martin Parr of USA" comes to mind. Between your amateur work and his deep dive into pro stuff, a good balance can be found. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your video. You asked one photographer to put his name on the front of his publication. Have you ever read The Unknown Craftsman by Soetsu Yanagi ? Which talks about artist who don't or didn't sign their work.
Thanks for all that you do Ted! I’m sure that besides this channel, you’re busy with other things in life, but without this channel I might not have discovered so much inspiration condensed in one area! Your channel has helped me grow as a photographer immensely more then anything else over the years.
As usual, really enjoy you showing us your mail. Such a relic of a concept but you bring it to life in these videos. It is inspiring me to think about how (and why) I will attempt to get my images into something tangible like a zine or book one day.
I’m in the process of getting enough good images for a personal photobook on places I grew up and hung around in, want to do it for my 50th in July. It won’t be the best quality but as good as o can afford for a hardback. That second book by the fashion photographer is awesome, something I’d gladly part with money for, which means a lot as I’m on an extremely tight budget being unable to work due to a number of health issues
Thanks for the reassurance.. I always said if you need to explain your photo it’s not hitting the mark. But I like the point of not apologizing. True about the tech side of photos 👍.. thank you again
You may have answered this, but I didn't hear it. Is the setting for this video (and several others of yours that I have watched) your studio or your home? It's not cluttered...at least not the parts I have seen.
Great video and inspiring channel. Best wishes for you from Iraq. As an amateur photographer, I would like to ask you about the large increase in accepting the highly manipulated image compared to the original image with simple modification on photography sites and social networking sites. Photography tends towards composite and modified images more than others. What do you think of this matter and I thank you with all my heart. Carry on with my sincere wishes
I love watching these types of videos and looking at other’s amazing photos! If I get a bigger following, this is something that would be great content!
Thanks a lot, Ted, for featuring my zine and your encouragement

That collection would make an excellent exhibit.

Coffee and The Art of Photography. It's going to be a good day.
Yes! always enjoy his video from Japan
Interesting books. I have watched your videos off and on and enjoy them.
Hi from down under.... nice to see all of the others' work, very inspiring

What a great way to start the day!!!
I'm glad to find you Sir... Your Brilliant
When I heard the Squarespace ad, all I could hear at the end was
"You down with AOP?"
"Yeah, you know me."

I like this kind of vlogs... Telling us what you think of unknown artists' portfolios or books.

Another great video Ted, I thought all the printed works you presented were great but the second was on another level . Cheers Chris.
Thanks Ted! Lucky you got yours; it seems a few got lost on their way through US customs.
The Garcon book is fantastic.
Neil's calendar reminds me that here it is the end of March and two of mine are still on February. ;-D
I need that book from Troy!!

Glasgow is pronounced “Glarz-go”.
Please stop it with the "super excited." You sound so silly.
People talk differently, it’s fine.
