An M270 multiple launch rocket system provided to Kiev by its Western sponsors was destroyed in Sumy Region, Ukraine, according to a video published by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday. The system, a heavier tracked counterpart to HIMARS capable of firing both ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles and smaller high-precision projectiles, was identified by a surveillance drone near the village of Bezdrik, approximately 25km from the border with Russia’s Kursk Region. The location was struck by a ballistic missile launched from a Russian Iskander-M system. A large explosion and subsequent fire were observed in the area after the strike. According to estimates from the Russian military, the attack destroyed both the launcher and its crew. - RT

Around the 16 minute point. I think the term you’re trying to find is tailing piles. Tailings consist of ground rock and process effluents that are generated in a mine processing plant. Mechanical and chemical processes are used to extract the desired product from the run of the mine ore and produce a waste stream known as tailings. An alternate term for the same thing : A spoil tip (also called a boney pile, culm bank, gob pile, waste tip or bing) is a pile built of accumulated spoil - waste material removed during mining. Spoil tips are not formed of slag, but in some areas, such as England and Wales, they are referred to as slag heaps. A landfill is typically regular commercial waste and household waste. Basically every day trash. Hope this helps with English terms from the United States at least

Ukraine’s armed forces could cause a nuclear disaster that would affect most of Europe if they strike the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik has warned. He went on to say that if the coolant system in an active plant is targeted, it would cause a “nuclear meltdown” which could lead to an incident similar to what happened at Fukushima or Chernobyl and which would impact most of Europe, especially this time of the year “when the wind blows northwest.” Krapivnik predicted that “if there is enough evidence” of this threat, it would “force a very large reaction” from the Russian government, as a meltdown at the Kursk plant would make the region uninhabitable. “And the fallout is going to go straight to the northwest into Europe,” he said, adding: “It’s going to hit the Poles, the Germans, the Danes, the Scandinavian countries,” right into the UK. “But apparently the leadership of those nations really doesn’t give a damn.” On Friday, Russian military journalist Marat Khairullin reported, citing sources, that Kiev is preparing to detonate a dirty atomic bomb targeting nuclear waste at either Russia’s Zaporozhye NPP or the Kursk NPP. - RT

Dirty bombs don't have much power, they are made to spread nuclear materials in relatively small area, practically denying access to the area. Destroying spent fuel pools this way would be very hard, probably impossible. Bombing them with long range missiles can cause horrible incident, although i don't think Western financiers, or Ukrainian government would do something like this. Note that Russian Rosatom is building two of their newest 3+ generation VVER-TOI NPPs in Kursk, those are as good or better than Western PWR (same technology) plants. The best thing about these is the fact they will be finished in 5 years or so, not 20+ years other countries except China and North Korea build them. I think wikipedia described the project fair, Rosatom's website has a lot of information too, check it out if interested.

MILITARY TUBE TODAY - Early this morning on August 18, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces assault troops began the main phase of their attacks on the mining town of “Toretsk”, or the Ukrainian name “Dzerzhinsk”, after making new advances from several points. Since yesterday, a Russian combat command post has been showing video from there, documenting the destruction of a Hummer vehicle, burning in the attack. A Russian soldier opened small arms fire on the Ukrainian crew, wiping out the remaining luck of the passengers who might still be alive. NATO vehicles used Russia as a springboard to destroy Zelensky’s troops, clearing most of Pivnichny. Toretsk lost its last Ukrainian defensive position to the west to Russian positions. This is due in no small part to the capabilities of Russian soldiers, who have taken over the Artem mine tailings on the outskirts of the town. Now, the Shtorm assault unit of the 1st Slavia Brigade is raising a flag on a strategically important height, and will increase the range of its FPV drones by installing a repeater there, while at the same time reducing the range of Ukrainian drones. For the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Toretsk, since yesterday it started with a run. As a result of the use of leaflets dropped by Russian drones, all military personnel units mobilized by Kiev and suffering heavy losses, decided to collectively lay down their arms and save their lives. It seems that the situation in Ukraine is about to change rapidly, with the simultaneous entry of Russian troops from three directions, marking the beginning of the ongoing fierce battle inside the city. According to reports, Russian assault units are breaking through with armored vehicles, infantry attacks, supported by artillery, are carried out in groups of 3 men. This attack seems to be costing many lives, and equipment is scarce for Ukraine, forcing soldiers from Brigade 53, to personally announce an online fundraising to get the EW systems they need. But the Kiev regime insists on focusing its attention on Kursk, and asking its Western allies to remove “obstacles” as “the course of the war demands.”
It has to be demoralizing to know that you're operating in an area that's being overrun because your reinforcements are being sent into a failed offensive for a cheap PR stunt. When the entire SE defense collapses, the rest will follow since the other sectors will be surrounded quickly.
Wrong: the coalmines are much easier to take than towns. Also RF just bypass large areas and cut them off from logistics and then the whole area falls.
Smart tankers have probably come up with a particularly effective survival strategy by now. The so-called get out and watch how it explodes tactic. According to this very sensible tactic for the tankers it is obviously best to stop the tank and leave the tank and hide. Then wait until a drone or missile comes flying and destroys the tank. After watching their tank being destroyed, the tankers then go on foot to their own positions and report their superiors that their tank has been destroyed. They are then congratulated by their superior for surviving despite the destruction of the tank. Afterwards they go to celebrate their own cunning and slyness.
Cunning as a fox that used to be Professor of Cunning at Oxford University ... but what about Dima and the drone operator publishing the video with the empty vehicle?
We are at a new paradigm for warfare. Weirdly enough the message doesn't seem to have gotten through the armour manufacturers who are making the exact same tanks with the exact same vulnerabilities. We haven't had tanks with armour of the same value in all aspects since the beginning of The Second World War, perhaps that will change now if even that will be enough. The much-vaunted Abrams in all its series only has 30mm top armour; something a small drone will scythe through. It appears the tank as a system is in retreat until the pendulum swings again.
@@jameslawrie3807 The answer will be shotgun-type active protection systems. These flimsy fpv drones can be taken out by a load of 12 gauge birdshot, and a system that autonomously aims and fires these can't be so hard to construct.
@@mananaVesta I've thought about too. Even a load of heavy shot fired in rapid succession from internal magazines would work. One of the problems they've had with this and even earlier systems like Drozt is that the radars used massively increase the vehicles' electromagnetic signature. With the radar emitting all the time it more or less is a beacon on top of the tank to detection systems. It might have to be tied to some sort of AI movement sensor.
Yes, me too. I asked myself if I am addicted to: one in the morning and one in the evening. Hungry for good news about history unfolding before our eyes.
The reason for the Ukrainian pause or resversal in Kursk is not because of negotiation. Its because they are taking a beating there. Don't distort facts Dima.
Why it is worth opposing Washington's monopolistic and anti-European policy Truth has a relative value, which in politics is most often defined by the goal, and therefore, due to the initial assumptions, the same events are interpreted as "true" or "false". Washington's goal is global domination, consisting of political control of all potentially competitive decision-making centers. Why does the US need control over the world? The US wants to control the world due to the limited interests of a very narrow group of people, who base their belief in their qualifications as "rulers of the world" solely on the illusion of the dominance of the dollar and the American model of the market economy. For almost a hundred years, the dollar has been primarily a tool for imposing political domination, not a currency, because as a currency it does not reflect the real value of goods and services necessary for the functioning of the world. If, for example, we arbitrarily decide that some part of the Atlantic fishing grounds or Iraqi oil fields has a value of X measured in dollars, this does not in any way determine their significance for people who catch, process and consume fish and who depend on sources of energy such as gasoline and diesel. If you are a fisherman who has to buy a sufficient amount of fuel at a price that allows for economically profitable catching and selling of the fish caught, then you are completely indifferent to the dollar price set by speculators on Wall Street for a ton of fish or a barrel of fuel. Neither will a fisherman living off fishing abandon his profession overnight, and much less will a hungry person who goes to the store to buy fish stop being hungry just because thousands of miles away someone has decided to make fishing and canning unprofitable by artificially raising the price of oil for stock market profits. Thus, the American economic model focused solely on the profit of a narrow speculative group is not only a parasitic model, but also has no real anchor in the needs and capabilities of the world whose fate it wants to decide. America uses the dollar in exactly the same way as the navy and air force, turning money into a tool of oppression. The example of Ukraine shows in a nutshell how Washington is destroying the world, turning it into a field of constant war. First, the US buys and corrupts local authorities, creating a privileged layer of local power completely dependent on the will of America, whose interests are completely detached from the realities of the local community. Then it forces its servants to start a war, and under the cover of war chaos, tries to take control of the natural resources of the region. Human life in this system has only propaganda value, which is why no one in Washington cares about the victims. They simply become an element of the game, because fear and confusion are needed to break resistance. The media play a key role here, because they are most eager to spread images of tragedy and destruction, because they make the most money from them, giving viewers a simplified and false image of reality. This is how the media image of the "innocent and cruelly attacked" Ukraine functions, while in fact it only serves as a platform for implementing the crazy plan of American domination. Considering the size of the population, the USA is less than five percent of the world, so there is no rational reason for a fraction of the world's population to live at the expense of the rest of the globe, imposing on it its false system of values and a way of converting absolutely everything into profit, detached from reality, understood narrowly as the benefit of a few thousand people, who form a parasitic American group of financial speculators. Washington claims that it can buy anyone and anything, anywhere it wants, and then do with its goods whatever it wants. Russian opposition overturns this limited in its madness image of the world and that is precisely why the American government wants to destroy Russia. It is for the same reason that it hates China. In general, America hates anyone it cannot control and that is its main motive.
It's true. And I wouldn't have basically problem with that, but this Woke America is worst than anything. They want to destroy national identity, Christianity, traditional values, and the white males. Which makes this very few in power so incredibly dangerous for the humanity.
What we have seen repeatedly is that the RuAF will not automatically push forward to take territory without umbrella coverage of support and IRS systems, even if such an opportunity to push forward exists outside of that umbrella coverage. Unlike Kursk which is a push into a salient without securing the proper supply, security and support. Give it 10 days to two weeks imo and you won't be hearing the Western media mentioning Kursk at all, for obvious reasons.
Regarding the regular exchange of the bodies of fallen soldiers: "For instance, recent reports indicate that Ukraine received the bodies of 250 Ukrainian soldiers in one of the largest exchanges to date, while returning 38 Russian soldiers’ remains." --That ratio.
The situation is not so good if you are a Banderites supporter. I think the situation became better. Send lots of troops to conquer border village (little to zero importance except PR) in exchange of losing strategical local is a hallmark of stupidity.
If the Ukrainians could not generate enough panic in Russia with the Kursk offensive to make Putin potentially vulnerable to a coup, it has already failed. No serious military analyst would say Ukraine has a real chance of holding on to their captured territories in Kursk Oblast let alone seriously threatening major sites or settlements in Kursk Oblast.
Every time a NATO Ukrainian vehicle is shown in an area, the next thing the video is showing is it being destroyed. So, if it is destroyed how is it controlling anything.

There was a neat surprise attack through a drainage culvert, that is dry in the summer. But such culverts are normally built no lower than the stream bed they replace so it can be paved over.
The Ukrainian troops deployed to Russia are likely real old guard nationalists, because this whole offensive was a face-saving gesture after Ukrainian demonstrators accused nationalists of sending "cowards" to the front while they stayed back conscripting and training, and serving anti-retreat brigades.

Ukraine’s armed forces could cause a nuclear disaster that would affect most of Europe if they strike the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik has warned.
He went on to say that if the coolant system in an active plant is targeted, it would cause a “nuclear meltdown” which could lead to an incident similar to what happened at Fukushima or Chernobyl and which would impact most of Europe, especially this time of the year “when the wind blows northwest.”
Krapivnik predicted that “if there is enough evidence” of this threat, it would “force a very large reaction” from the Russian government, as a meltdown at the Kursk plant would make the region uninhabitable.
“And the fallout is going to go straight to the northwest into Europe,” he said, adding: “It’s going to hit the Poles, the Germans, the Danes, the Scandinavian countries,” right into the UK. “But apparently the leadership of those nations really doesn’t give a damn.”
On Friday, Russian military journalist Marat Khairullin reported, citing sources, that Kiev is preparing to detonate a dirty atomic bomb targeting nuclear waste at either Russia’s Zaporozhye NPP or the Kursk NPP.

Note that Russian Rosatom is building two of their newest 3+ generation
VVER-TOI NPPs in Kursk, those are as good or better than Western PWR (same technology) plants. This is not a war, this is just a matter of time. Ukraine SUE for peace, and stop the killing/dying on both sides.

Are we arguing if one tank is worth more than a half dozen human soldiers? Why not elect a tank for president?
@@mananaVesta I've thought about too. Even a load of heavy shot fired in rapid succession from internal magazines would work.
One of the problems they've had with this and even earlier systems like Drozt is that the radars used massively increase the vehicles' electromagnetic signature. With the radar emitting all the time it more or less is a beacon on top of the tank to detection systems. It might have to be tied to some sort of AI movement sensor.

Why it is worth opposing Washington's monopolistic and anti-European policy
Truth has a relative value, which in politics is most often defined by the goal, and therefore, due to the initial assumptions, the same events are interpreted as "true" or "false".
Perfectly said
that was long..
It's true. And I wouldn't have basically problem with that, but this Woke America is worst than anything. They want to destroy national identity, Christianity, traditional values, and the white males.
Which makes this very few in power so incredibly dangerous for the humanity.
The desire for power and greed is infinite.

Unlike Kursk which is a push into a salient without securing the proper supply, security and support. Give it 10 days to two weeks imo and you won't be hearing the Western media mentioning Kursk at all, for obvious reasons.

for ukraine its a propaganda victory since they show that they brought the fighting to the russian land
for russia its a strategical victory since the ukranian troops fighting in kursk are mostly redeployed from donbass which means the the russian army can finnaly capture those highly fortified areas without that much effort
@@markward3981 Yeah, I have seen the Ruskys high-IQ logic is: It was not fair for Ukr to gain so much land so quickly cause our RuskyArmy was not alerted beforehand, they should alert at least a month before to be fair, so they can advance a village each month like Ruskys do in Donbass.
Basically they were challenged by demonstrators to walk their talk.
Kursk seems fine as as for now seems so, another Rabotino meat grinder, thing is how will Ukraine recover after a 2nd wave of a massive loses of a both equipment and a menpower, totally reckless move and escalation
Imagine the headlines: "Russia has fallen to Russia in Ukraine"
Great reporting on the Soviet meat grinder 1950s tactics
From dusk till dawn😂
They advanced 23km since February - hardly of concern that anything is collapsing any time soon.
White flag is the only option for Ukraine everything else is tragicomedy by Zzelensky😅
Not yet, Zelensky promised until last Ukranian, that means every Ukro except him 😮
Dont let Ukraine retreat
Attacking Transnistria is like Russia attacking Philippines for no reason.
But vladimir gebbelnski told me that ukraine is winning and after Kursk Moscow is within arm reach after swift ukrainian offensive... again!
I don't think a single tank in a village means much. The Ukes seem to just be bum rushing anywhere they can. It is very strange. No real tactics.
So without real tactics they have taken 1000km2 in a week?
@@edthebumblingfool not hard without resistance still just zerging as far as they could n now they stuck
@@edthebumblingfool Let's see in a couple of weeks what they have really taken. It's easy to drive into an empty forrest with your MRAP, no so easy to stay there for a month without starving or getting blown to pieces. And even if they really were able to hold on to this, what difference would it make? You think the Russians will stop their Donbas offensive because 'Putin is embarrassed'?
"The landfill by the name of Russia." 😄
Cant stop now, we're in blyat country
