I think seeing the Wales kicking balls, getting hands dirty and blending with “Commoners” attracts far more young people than dressing in a snooty, high society manner.
Being formal isn’t being “ snooty”! There is a place for both styles. The former Queen set out her expectations and her rules for the family, which were rooted in a bygone time and everyone obeyed her. She had a huge appreciation of and respect for history and the meaning behind the traditions. Since she has gone there had been a noticeable relaxation of dress code in particular amongst the family . Queen Camilla possibly is a little nervous about relaxing too much in case she is attacked by the press- she had a difficult role to fill following in from the previous regime.

For those not familiar with traveling between LA Area to Vegas. Its typically a 4 hour drive one way. Personally my friends and I can do a day trip to Vegas from the LA area. Drive up in the morning and come back a little after midnight. No private jet needed just a car.

It was a week of wonderful work and representation from our RF. Well done! I have to say that Queen Camilla and Princess Anne are looking more and more beautiful as they age. I love them both. She’s constantly been taking vacations, collecting irrelevant awards, engaged in shady car chases, and making appearances without them- and why do we have to even talk about her. And time away from the children when they went to New York in September 2021, last Spring (with that infamous car chase,) in December of 2022 for that Award for fighting against “racism,) and recently for that mental health symposium - before going on that trip to the Caribbeans. For those not familiar with traveling between LA Area to Vegas. Its typically a 4 hour drive one way. Personally my friends and I can do a day trip to Vegas from the LA area. Drive up in the morning and come back a little after midnight. No private jet needed just a car.

OS criticised the King over the red carpet in Kenya but Harry and Meghan had a red carpet from the jet to the car on the way back from the concert, still awaiting an OS comment.
Like the new set. The opening of parliament, and the speech from the throne are pretty standard formalities throughout the Commonwealth. Not the King's place (or his representative in the parliaments of the commonwealth countries) to insert his own feelings and opinions. It is simply reading the elected government's upcoming legislative agenda. Not sure why people think something dramatic will happen. Its a ceremonial thing. Omid Scobie is a weird, and rather comical guy - clearly desperate to find a place for himself. He's always acting as the officially offended voice of the Sussexes - no item too trivial or silly. I thought the King's comments about difficult issues from the past was absolutely pitch perfect. Lastly -- honestly, I simply am getting completely bored with these contemplations of whether Harry is invited to this or that, whether Harry will come, whether the rift will be mended. Honestly, its ridiculous.
Interesting discussion on "Nicky" (spelling?) making derogatory comments about William and Kate's "style" ... granted that, being a Canadian, I don't live in Great Britain, so I don't SEE the Wales family every day, but from the photos I have seen over the years, including this show's weekly "Royal Montage" I think that William and Kate dress appropriately for each occasion ... from tuxedos and gowns for opera/theatre/symphony to everyday clothing for playing with their children and planting trees! As a Clergyman, I long ago made my peace with folk showing up for a church service in everyday clothing, rather than the suit with tie I was made to wear when growing up! It was a week of wonderful work and representation from our RF. Well done! I have to say that Queen Camilla and Princess Anne are looking more and more beautiful as they age. I love them both. The Prince and Princess of Wales are such a great example of boots on the ground, rolling up your sleeves and getting at it. They seem to enjoy going about their duties with dignity,a keen sense of interest,a touch of humour, and as a shining example to their three children of what to look forward to as they are growing into their roles. Well done!!

Most children don’t get an actual invite to their parents birthday, they are part of the planning. I would call my sister and say what are we doing for dad’s birthday or suggest we meet at a certain restaurant. I don’t sit around waiting for an invitation.
