Yeah I'm curious too. What a joke. Whole video is about lining planter boxes and the video ends with him filling it full of water and advertising designing a pond.

Someone commented on another forum that pond liner isn't waterproof. WTF. If it wasn't then water would continuously seep through and if you're using it for fish, or what not, it means the water would never be level. WTF. I don't know if I believe that. Thats like saying pool liner isn't water proof. WHaat? I was wondering about over time, mold on the wood, but that's what the pond liner is supposed to prevent as it is not like landscape fabric. Thoughts?

Where can I find planter boxes like these that would support the water weight? I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a while, and these liners look like the best looking option, but I’m going back and forth looking at planter boxes and can’t decide what I think won’t fail under the weight of the water. Thanks

We purchased these locally from a man that builds planters and sells them on Facebook Marketplace. Most planters should be strong enough to hold water since dirt saturated with water wouldn't be that much lighter than just pure water.

Hello, enjoying the videos. I am looking into making a bunch of ebb and flow tables. I would like to use a wood frame and then line that with an RPE liner. 1. Can I paint the liner a white color? 2. Can I use multple liners to make a thicker bottom and heat seal them together? 3. Can I glue liner to wood? When I fold up liner to make it fit corners can I think heat seal it together to form a proper corner and just have visable seems with no water leakage? If you can give me any insight onto this I'd appreciate it. Looking to order from you guys this week.

We have not experimented with painting the liners, but I imagine it would be possible if you found the right paint. You may lose the NSF-61 rating though since paint may not be fish safe or drinking water safe. You can combine the RPE liner by heat welding the seams. This requires a specialized tool and knowledge of how to heat weld. Glue is also not something we've experimented with. We will normally heat weld, and then mechanically fasten around the top edge for a secure fit.
