Why can't every HVAC video be this quick and to the point? Thank you so much.

Jeez thank you for getting to the point! I've been trying to find how to do a basic check and people go around the world and don't simply say what you need to do

Couldn't you have also ohmed out the solenoid?

Today I stuck a magnet on the barrel of reverse valve and went from heating to cooling on my thermostat and magnet moved. So valve is good and solenoid is obviously too.

Where would I find a replacement for the solenoid coil? On the casing of my solenoid for a mini split heat pump - DunAn AC:220-240V 50/60Hz, Power 7/5W , 150425W. Thanks!

To check for voltage I had to remove a rubber boot that had the female spade terminals tucked in it. I put my volt tester into the boot"s female feed terminals. I read around 100 mv and it kept slowly creeping higher in mv .
I placed the boot back onto the solenoid, removed the screw, removed the solenoid, did the screw driver test and there wasn't any magnetic pull.
My questions are: Does the outside unit have to be calling for cold or heat to test for voltage to the coil?
If not what do you think about more tests to narrow things down. I have a new thermostat, It's a Rheem heat pump, Doesn't blow heat through the ducts, and when the fan is set on continuous it doesn't respond.

    Hate to say it
But I’ve been a fridgee (refrigeration and airconditioning technician) by trade here in Australia for 15 years and no one, ever, uses any of those slide rules. Im not sure why you’d even need them?
When you’re charging and commissioning a system you do so to suction temp superheat back to the compressor, what do you need a chart for??
