A large portion of the punch Dubois hit him with landed below the actual bottom of the waistband and that was the bottom of the glove where the knuckles are so the knuckle area of the glove was all below the naval therefore low. And Dubois hit him low numerous times not just with that shot.

According to the WBA rules, the referee should have stopped the fight and declared Lerena the winner. But he did not.
