I agree used cars are the way to go. I would recommend for someone to go with either a Honda, Acura(made by Honda) or a Toyota as a first car as they are the most reliable! I am glad you didn’t go with a Nissan they are not great plus maintenance is not cheap.
i make 824 a month and im saving for a car with 947 dollars already in my bank account. I'm saving up now because i start my new job this friday! I just turned 17 this october and i need to save so i can get myself to college! your video helped so muchhh
I was 29 years old on my 1st car. I got the car in mid October 1999. My 1st car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE in light denim blue. Even my father did helped me,too. I was 29 years old. I even gotten my driver’s license in mid December 1999. It was a good 1st car. I even was working back then.
My plan is to get a 2016-17 Honda Accord because that’s always been my dream car! A lot of the cool kids at college had that while I had older Subaru’s that my Dad supplied me with. Just this past year, I bought my first car. A 1990 Honda Accord LX Sedan. My other car permanently broke down and I needed to find a car. So I wanted a newer Honda Accord. I realized I couldn’t afford it. I looked at older Honda Accords. And found that beige one online. I fell in love with it even though my Dad was kind of against it due to its age. He’s an older mechanic. I’ve been doing my maintenance on it and it’s been doing great! I still really want to get a newer Honda Accord though because I’ve never owned a newer car ever in my life.
@Breelisee thank you ✨️ definitely if you want a car to road trip with family thought about my future and thought of this ❤️ so far its been 2 months and rides like a cloud ☁️ only upgrade I did to have similar feature is replacing the old screen with new aftermarket ones with a backup camera and comes with Bluetooth apple carplay. 🙌
So I'm 16 and getting a 2011 Ford F150 Lariat next weekend and I've saved $500 and trading in my moms old car that she gave me (which is a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ) for $1,000 then using the $1,500 for a down payment. Very excited to get my first vehicle and since I'm a pickup truck guy, first time owning a pickup is even more exciting. I've rode in one and drove one but never actually own it or drive it more than a day. It has 201,941 miles (best one I could find within my budget) for 9k, its very fancy. Might make a quick review when I get it

just ask around and see if there’s anything that needs doin. ask your neighbors if they need their property weed eated or mowed, baby sit, or anything really
That’s great! Save everything you get for your birthdays, Xmas etc. ask your parents if you can do some extra chores for money. Stay focus on what you want and keep working for it.

LMBO, if you're in your 40s with a house, spouse, kids, etc. my guess is, this advice isn't as relevant. Congrats on your first car and the route you took to get it! Hopefully more teens and younger adults can take advantage of what you've shared, though it's good advice for anyone (but if you can't recognize the difference and adjust... LOL).
I just realized your name is Ashley that’s my late cousins name may she rest in peace🥺 but I have been loving your car videos the car is turning out so nice😌.
It’s easier if you work and can save now a days you can’t save parents make you pay bills right then and there once you have a job but congratulations everyone journey is different.
You’re right, everyone journey is different. My parents told me that as long as I’m in school or college and I’m responsible I don’t have to pay bills besides my phone, car insurance and fuel. I’m truly blessed ❤️🙏
I'm sorry you had to start working at 16,I pity teenagers that choose to start working that young.I didn't start working till I was 19.I got my first car at 16 also but my dad gave me his old Nissan Z sports car and had the engine overhauled and the body repainted in the original color for me so it was like a brand new car all over again. And best of all I didn't have monthly payments and he covered the insurance and my mom covered my gas so I could finish highschool.Best of luck to you with that car, don't work too hard.
i turn 16 this november but i’m gonna wait until next may til i can get my intermediate so i have longer to save. i’m fortunate with the fact that i get 2 grand a month from my father passin.

There’s too many variables to give a solid number. From the cost of the vehicle (assuming you plan on financing it), saving for expected and unexpected maintenance, insurance, property taxes depending on the state you live in, gas, tags, title and registration and so on and so forth. Easiest way to explain it, it won’t be cheap. Best advice I give young adults is to do a budgeting exercise and use sites like Carvana to get an idea of the monthly payment and progressive to get a “quote” on insurance to get an idea of what it costs to have a car then factor in an additional $300 for vehicle expenses. But don’t jump out the gate and get a crazy expensive vehicle. Get an older model Toyota or Honda you can pay cash for because those will last you and are a lot more reliable than other car manufacturers.
#1 Tip, don't buy a brand new car or a 2024. You'll eventually regret it and end up making yourself work harder. Car's will always lose value, buy property first. 😂
