I’m a hobbyist in need of some expertise. I’m building a 72” grinder for use in shaping and various materials used in making knives. The materials will range from epoxy, wood, or bone handles to sharpening or shaping steel blades. Generally speaking I would like to run the grinder from 500 to 3000 Rpm on 110volt. I could use a pulley system to secure the given range of speeds in perhaps 500 rpm increments or a variable speed motor. Perhaps a restat could be used. With a budget of say $200-$250, what motors would you consider?
