Im a 71 year old Uber driver and pass where they are standing frequently. I always give my riders the history of that historic rocket. Hawthorne airport is on the SpaceX compound and Elon Musk occasionally lands his GulfStream G650 there.
This video has inspired me to go see it again..Will almost certainly be going back for Starships 2nd launch..That first one was otherworldly..Rocket Ranch..
I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never visited the OG rocket despite living in LA…for those who know, however, I live in La Canada which makes the journey to Hawthorne a laborious task…
My wife and I were on our way to San Diego and got routed to the supercharger a block away. At some point I figured where we were and arranged to drive past that spot as well. We didn't stay around long enough to figure out where Mission Control is and the like. The Tesla Design area is nearby as well.
I thought you are getting inside their facility. I visited it like you are standing right now in early 2017, but couldn’t get it inside. I was always wondering that how can I get into their facility for factory visiting and sometimes asked someone got into it before on Twitter. I will be there maybe next week again.😉

I'll never forget that landing. My entire family watched and cheered the beginning of a new era in spaceflight. Hope I get to see it one day.
