This sequence is a collection of priceless gags: Scully tries to sleep, but with the phone in her hands. When the bell rings, without even knowing who was calling, she asks: Mulder, okay? After Mulder involutely says that the scientist is actually her, Scully questions: She? Mulder continues, saying her name: Bambi. And comes the question from our dear Scully: Who? Dr. Berembaun, why. Then the anthological question: is her name Bambi? Your parents are naturalists, says one disconnected Mulder. Scully replies: her name is Bambi? P.S .: Not forgetting that less than twelve hours later, our jealous Scully was already in Massachusetts. I LOVE IT ALL VERY MUCH!
I would really love an edit where Mulder just keeps talking and Scully just keeps replying "her name is Bambi??" Mulder: Bambi also has this theory... Scully: Who? Mulder: Doctor Berenbaum. No, not... not a girlie scream, but the scream of someone being confronted by some before unknown monster that had no right existing on the same planet I inhabited. Did you ever notice how a praying mantis' head resembles an alien's head? I mean, the mysteries of the natural world were revealed to me that day, but instead of being astounded, I was... repulsed. Scully: Mulder... her name is Bambi? Then cut to the scene where Scully arrives in her car to the factory. Scully: Let me guess... B a m b i ......
It's interesting the line that caught her attention was the "she". The writers honestly did a good job of creating a relationship between a male and female that seriously borders on something more. There's a connection and plenty of instances of jealousy, but neither of them are willing to put themselves out there because it would require a risk from both of them.
Every time there's a scene where he poses a little, I think about that tweet where someone's like "David Duchovny used to TA for one of my mom's classes in college, and she still doesn't like him because he used to 'lounge about in a whorish manner'." 😂
Mulder's praying mantis epiphany speech might just be my favoruite scene in the entire series. "did you ever notice how a praying mantis's head resembles an alien's head?"
