Evening George. I really like Ron Sexsmith but have never got round to buying his records. First heard about him via Elvis Costello in the pages of Mojo. Nice jazz pick-ups as always, I'll stream the Joe Harriott one. Saw Sam Rivers back in the day, he was already pretty old but he was cooking still. Btw, Timbales is pronounced Tim-bah-lay, and 'oud' is pronounced 'ood'. though not sure how either of those will come out in Scottish. 😆
@@jamesgriffithsmusic cheers james. Ron sexsmith is a mighty fine singer songwriter with a lovely voice. I remember you seeing Sam rivers think you had to look eave early for your bus.
I’m still trying to spend all my VMP credit. It’s stupid how long these box sets are taking. Will you ever get it? Just got our first big snow storm of the year George , not enjoying it but it will melt fast. Thanks for the review on the new British jazz albums, jazz is strong in the UK
I found a Don Pullen Jazz album last year,it was only 2 dollars American. And my ignorance I didn’t know how RARE it was,and I put it back on the shelf. It was only about 10,000 dollars. In pounds it’s worth about 7,700 roughly?
The Sonny Rollins LP was released years before in 1967. The copy you swapped may have been a 1974 reissue. I have an original and also the recent copy you showed. I have to say I think the original sounds better to me!
@@praximan-ke8ek yes your right. Unfortunately I can’t get originals really. Fab lp. And the reissue sounds better than my last copy and obviously silent.

That was Elvin at Ronnie Scott's, and it was the train.
